Road Side is a venue for ALL members to post ANY kill against ANY opponent. Personally, I am tired of the crap that has been flying lately. If you have a technical point to make, make it without insulting other members.
I don't think that I broke any rules of this forum. The race even included a cobra, It would have been nice to find out what kind of mods the car had. I was hoping the owner might be a member and chime in.
Thanks for all your polite responses.
Tired of the crap thats been flying lately?! you have 10 posts! WE and especially ME are tired of TROLLS poking their heads into SVTP and spewing BS just like YOU have. Thats the crap thats been flying lately! I'm open minded when it comes to cars. I like anything thats fast and doesnt look rice. And I will give you the "atta boy" pat on the back when you kill a worthy car in your EVO. But come in here with that BS and you will get an ear full.

First of all thanks for joining to post this story. Great to have you on board
You said you joined this forum to learn about the car you raced which you could've done by just using the search function or using the site without joining. You posted this story, tried to tell us what you raced and about how fast your Evo is.
You're stock with more boost and a few airflow mods. A stock Cobra makes more power than you do. You raced a stock Cobra with a cat-back and more than likely a driver that can't make a good 2-3 shift. You didn't smell race gas and he had a stock blower.
You sound like a guy I work with that claimed a 550awhp Evo9...until I walked away from him in my 450rwhp cobra. Of course after that he claimed that he was on low boost. You must be talking about the 1/8th and not the 1/4??
friend of mine has an 03 EVO VIII, with his mods, I think that I can get most of them from the top of my head.. stock block, some type of cams, stock turbo, but pushing quite abit more than stock boost, larger injectors, and E85 and tune for that e85, he's pushing on a dyno about 350 hp to the wheels (about 300 on Cali 91 octane).. as far as racing him.. my 03 Cobra with a 2.8" pulley, Magnaflow catback and RWTD tune.. it's not that close of a race.. so, I don't see how with your mods your a 10 sec car, unless Mitsubishi really REALLY did some spectacular stuff to the EVO from the VIII to the IX models..
i call bs on an evo with turboback exhaust, stock snail, upgraded FMIC and e85 (I like how you think youre running corn on stock fuel system) keeping close with even a stock 03/04 Cobra. Youre equivalent is a DSM with a 16g+support (DSMlink, fuel, boltons) and even that would be hard pressed to keep with a bolton 03/04 cobra, i should know, my buddies talon and I ran down the freeway with his evo16g setup+support vs the numbers in my sig many a time, each time it ended badly for him. I know an Evo is a little better but not much. E85 is nice but i dont see you being able t do much with it fuel/timing wise on the stock snail, my buddy ran meth+91 at 25psi on that turbo and the best he could do was cut down the amount of carlengths i put on him between 30 and 140mph.

I'm with everyone else. There's more done to your car than you're saying.
Buddy of mine had an Evo 8 with more boltons than you, cams, and meth, and he was only able to put down 375whp. He's got the driver mod to the max and with that he was able to pull an 11.9 with a 112 trap I believe. I'm sure on the ET, not sure on the trap.
With the ET/trap in the video, it's obvious that you could beat a pullied cobra.
So, I guess I'm calling bullshit on your mods. You've got video proof of what you've run, and with what you've run, you should have a good run with a pulley cobra on the street depending on what pulley they've got and if they've got any other boltons.
i think maby your car has alittle more done to it if thats it in the videos. because with your mods i would think you woud have to up the boost and use meth or nitrous.

The car was making 396 hp and 418 tq on 100% meth and pump. Just changing to e85 picked up around 25 hp on that set up. Its now making 451 hp and 440 tq.
The only weight reduction that has been done is removal of the bumper supports and passenger seats.

This is what he claims "The car was making 396 hp and 418 tq on 100% meth and pump. Just changing to e85 picked up around 25 hp on that set up. Its now making 451 hp and 440 tq.

Dude wtf...there is no way in hell you are making that much power for stock turbo, cams all that, something not right man. Look I give you props if your car really is that fast, I give respect to fast cars but it seems like something is out of line...

It's very possible. They love e85 and boost. I stayed even with a stock cobra when I had 315whp so its definitely feasible. Not all cars run the same. He doesn't need much more than listed to be in the 11s without a sweat.
11.15 was on crappy tires that came with the car and a 1.66 60'. I now have a light weight brake kit and better suspension. With my new set up most car 60' in the 1.4's on slicks. Do the math its a high 10 sec car. I will post the video when I take it to the track next, just waiting on cooler weather.
HAHAHAHA... basic bolt on mods on your evo and you thought you raced a ported or kb car.
So serious?
No seriously? So serious? A kill is a kill and anything can happen on the street. But, I dont believe that this happened..... AT ALL.
I mean, I hate to start paper racing but the cobra posted a 12.9 stock and your car posted a 13.5. With that being said, you would need those mods to even be near the stock cobra. Also, MM&FF posted like a 12.6 or something like that in a cobra w/ drag radials.
Plain and simple, post cool kill stories. Not some shit you had a dream about last night.
OP... If you dont mind a little traveling I could meet you half way and you could run my Whipple car and see how they compare... All in fun! Loser buys lunch

BTW, my buddy has an EVO with a stroker motor, 35r turbo, ported head, cams, twin disc clutch, etc..He drives around on his race tune and is faster than me, but he's going back to a stock turbo because of all the headaches, I'll get a run in and try to get it on video. I've raced other bolt-on EVOs in the past and it wasn't pretty, with the stock turbo his EVO will have a bit more than just 'bolt-ons' though so it should be interesting.

If he's closer to me, i would volunteer to run him in my KB car. I have a little bit of chemical aspiration(similar to his meth) and a stock motor with a little exhaust and clutch and suspension work done. I just hope that my measly 730+rwhp can hope to match up with him. I've been looking for a reason to try out my new 26x11.50/16 e.t. streets.
