Awesome runs. I have been on ls1tech.com just hovering around and what amazes me is what a LS1 motor with HCI can put down. I have seen alot of SS camaro's making 450rwhp with just those simple mods. I would imagine adding 4.10's to the mix and it would be a true street brawler for sure.

Yeah, my H/C setup is about as mild as it gets. $900 heads, small cam, stock intake, all through a heavy / geared drivetrain. The stronger H/C/I setups through a stock drivetrain put down high 400s and a few freaks have hit the 500rwhp mark, although there are VERY few of those. Where my car shines is from a dig or low roll with this gearing (4.10s and MN12 6-speed).

Yeah, supposedly the guy who built it and can drive the balls off it hit a 124-125 trap before selling it to the current owner, but he was just learning it when I ran him. It's definitely a lot quicker than my car but driver mod goes a long way, especially with those turbo cars!

its cold up this way. i couldnt get my junk to hook up in 3rd at 40 right now.
I've had the car out on some frigid nights, if you get a little heat in my street tires they don't hook horribly... i have the 275.45.17 yokohama s-drives... they hook 559rwtq alright from third... spin second nicely in the cold... my MT's wont even hook second on a cold day though... I remember one morning i took it out last year, it was in the negatives in temp... and i had it in 5th at maybe only 65mph and layed into it and it was all over the road...

Yeah I noticed that too, cold drag radials are worse than cold street tires.
40 roll would have been worse for me... taking off in 3rd... no questions, his 4.10's would have raped my stock gearing even more than they did from 60... and me trying to go from 2nd on street tires would be a joke...
I don't think 40 would have gone too well for him with those tires, especially since my MTs dead hook and 40 is perfect for me in second with this trans and 4.10s.
I can't wait for my rental tomorrow and then we will make some dig runs happen on video.

BTW, the rental was cancelled. Of course the track waited until we made the 3.5 hour ride down and then cancelled as we pulled up to the gate. Should be going in a couple weeks though.
just wanted to chime in and let everybody know that there's a shit load of vids of our cars from tonight that were filmed in Mexico that are coming this way shortly... Awesome driving by every one for all those runs we held down with no missed shifts.
Sorry, still workin on it. Took me FOREVER to find a converter that would do MTS to WAV conversions at a decent quality, and even this one I'm using kind of sucks, but it should be good enough to post some vids.
