It's our second child...we also have a 1 year old daughter. We found out the sex when we had her at the 20 week mark. My wife is fine with not knowing but it would drive me crazy...btw, baby is due April 2...he/she better not come on April Fool's day!

I resent that! I'm an April Fools Baby
Oh and yeah, it would drive me nuts not to know.

NEVER FORGIVE - NEVER FORGET
Political correctness is about turning a blind eye to painful reality because your comfortable feelings are more important to you than saving lives and providing quality of life to people who work their ass off to be productive and are a benefit to this great American dream.
I didn't want to find out but my wife didn't have the will power, of course she ended up ruining it for me. I say wait for it, what in life could possibly be a more exciting suprise?
While I generally don't mind waiting for an "event", when it comes to gender, I was curious when my 2nd ex was pregnant. All the sonograms were inconclusive though so we still didn't know until "she" was born that it was a girl. Best wishes.
I wanted to know the first time, especially since we had twins but I don't want to know the sex of our next baby unless it's twins again. I think it would be fun to not know until the birth but I really don't know if I would have the will power to not find out. I'm too curious.

No. See, for it to be yours, you would have had to have sex with a girl, which, so far, has not happened. But hey, you'll be 49 next year, so there is always the remote, faint, merest possibility of random chance that some girl will somehow get drunk enough that maybe, juuuuuust maybe ... you'll have a chance at it.
I think i would want to know on my first child but maybe not for the second.
This is how I am feeling right now...I'd like a surprise.

One thing is. If you know you can prepare more with what happens after delivery. If you wait then you have to buy clothes, change the baby's room colors and all that good stuff. Finding out before hand makes things run so much smoother.

My wife couldn't stand waiting to find out, while I would've been happy to be suprised. It was nice to know since we were preparing a room and got alot of stuff before our daughter came. It would've sucked to paint the room a nuetral color and getting clothes, baby seats, etc. that were "unisex".
There's no way I would be able to go without knowing. We just had ours and it was nice being able to decorate her room and have a name for her. It surely wasn't any less exciting when she was delivered.
1. easier to pre-buy for the baby, especially the clothes & interior for the bedroom for baby
2. go ahead & name the child
3. helps the friends & relatives buy for your child ahead of time, especially for the baby shower
not knowing =
1. the element of surprise
Congrats ahead of time on your 2nd!

Life is like a box of chocolates...........
Congratulations. My wife is pregnant also. Due may 20. This is our first one. We are defendant finding out the sex. I'm like you. It would drive me nuts also.
For the first 2 weeks of my life I was called Annie until my parents could pick me up and name me.
If it were me I would want to find out. Like others have said, it makes the preparation easier on everybody if you know. But ultimately it's up to you. Congrats either way!

OP - have a 2 year old boy and a 3 month old girl. We did not find out for either one, and it was soooo much more exciting. Just keep receipts for all gifts that may be girl or boyish and return them after the baby is born. As for room decorations, we went very neutral and it turned out great.
Do yourself a favor and do not find out the sex of the baby - you will thank me later.
