I know this is an SVT forum but I just wanted to know which of these cars the majority of you consider to be better. I truly liked the Camaros better up until the early 80s model came out. That's when the Trans-Am started to look better. The 02 WS6 is way better than the 02 SS IMO.

You already answered your own question....it is clear which car you like. Why would you buy anything else?
I like them both personally. I think the T/A only looks good in certain colors.
You can see the choice I made but I also would buy a T/A as well....
Go with what you like best or you'll regret it.
I voted T/A since it seems to be what you really like

I wasn't saying that I was looking to buy either car. I love my Cobra better but just decided to start a thread to see what people here thought. I wish I was in that position though

I guess the way I read it, it seemed like you were in the market...
camaro SS, the WS.6 IMO the hood looks retarted, i do like the firehawks in SOM.

I think that the ws6 and the mach 1 are two of the meanest "looking" cars of the last 20 years,
the ws6 just looks like its ready to F*** something up.
The camaros starting in like 93?-to 02 look like wedges of cheese to me, just kinda bland, they throw the ss hood on and that helps but it still doesnt have much flair imho

The way I see it, there are three areas to look at when comparing cars: drivetrain, interior, exterior.
DRIVETRAIN
They are basically the same depending on which package you went with, so no real difference here to judge on.
INTERIOR
In my opinion, the interior on the Camaro is about 1,000 times better than that of the Trans Am. Quality-wise they are pretty much the same, but design-wise they are very different. Things I dislike about the TA interior vs the Camaro interior: shape of the AC vents (stupid, round vents vs the rectangular Camaro ones), those cheapass looking grey plastic knobs for the AC controls (Camaro's are plastic, also, but they are black and don't look so much like the controls of a Playskool toy), the speedo only goes in increments of 5mph markers (Camaros show every mph, which looks much better in my opinion). There are a few other minor things about both but those three really bug me when I sit in my buddy's TA vs my Camaro.
EXTERIOR
In my opinion, the WS6 wins this hands down, but I don't like Trans Ams as much without the WS6 hood as I do the looks of an SS or Z28, and I REALLY dislike the look of Formulas with the lowered spoiler and V6 looking nose. So basically it goes WS6, SS, Z28, TA, Formula. And some people want to kill me for saying this, but I think the WS6 looks WAY better than a Firehawk. I'd stick Firehawk after SS in the looks department but probably ahead of a Z28.
Bottom line, as much as I'd love a WS6, the interior would kind of bug me, but the exterior looks are so badass that it would still probably be my first choice over an SS, but not by much. And I'd take an SS or Z28 over a regular TA or Formula.

Get the T/A its more of a manly car, the Camaro is more of a chick car.
It's funny to see someone with a Mustang calling an Fbody a chick car. And even with the very few girls I've seen driving an Fbody, way more drive Trans Ams than Camaros. Trans Ams are "prettier", as one of the previous posters put it.
But to call any Fbody a chick car just made me LOL. The whole reason Mustangs are still selling as well as they are and Fbody sales always suffer is precisely that chicks don't like to drive Camaros and Firebirds but they love buying V6 auto vert Mustangs! Hell, most don't even like getting in and out of my car. Then again, I didn't buy it for the chicks.

QFT..
I personally like the SS the most, however the formula/firehawk is a close 2nd
I have always thought of SN95 GTs and New Edge GTs as chick cars, they never did it for me, no power. However Ford is smart for marketing and appealing to a broader group. GM could have and still could learn a few marketing lessons form Ford. The 4th gens really ended up being a niche car that did so..so in sales.
I remember taking my wife (fiancee at the time) to look at mustang GTs back in early 2001. We pulled up to Mac Haik Ford in my 99 Formula and started looking at mustang GTs. A salesman walked up and we advised that were interested in looking at/driving a GT. He asked if I would be trading in my Formula, I said nah, just looking to buy my fiancee something she can't hurt herself in. The look on his face was priceless...Fast forward, I actually ended up getting my 01 cobra later that year from Mac Haik and then trading the 01 cobra for an 03 snake in Nov of 2002. sorry for rambling a bit off topic..
