I really like the looks of the new Forza and I
love racing games but the last i had or played really was gt2 on playstation 1.
So i have a tv and cable internet what else do I need to play this game and do all that is capable, like all tracks, cars and playing other people online.
What version of the console do I need, and what options should I look for that come with it or should be bought separate but at the same time.
What are the requirements, stipulations and prices for the online stuff. Is it free or is there a monthly fee or something.
One last thing got this off wiki
The Xbox 360 Elite has also been configured with a 250GB hard disk drive and 2 wireless controllers on special limited editions of the console. The 250GB Elite will retail at US$399.99 on 10 November 2009. A Modern Warfare 2 bundle includes a special limited edition console design and a flat black finish. The other bundle will include a standard Elite finish and the game Forza Motorsport 3.
does anybody think its a good deal ^
Just get the 20gb XBOX 360. Its got pleanty of space for $200.. I think a 1 year subscription of XBox live is $60... You can use a cell phone headset for a microphone online, and forza 3 is $60 new. Also, I'd reccomend getting some rechargable batteries and a charger.
I'm not sure what bundles they have going on right now or if theres any specifically with Forza 3. It comes with all the cords to hook it up (you have to buy HD cords separately).
Dont buy an arcade (they dont have the hard drive) id get the mw2 bundle and then get forza 3 as well, but make sure u get the one with the 20 gig drive if your not gonna get the mw2 bundle

Wait... What??? They dont come with hard drives? I thought they did.. My bad.

Eitherway, I'd get the 20gb one.
They don't make a 20 gb one. New you can only buy the Arcade or Elite (they also have the MW2 one out right now). The Arcade doesn't come with a HD, the Elite comes with a 120 GB HD, and the MW2 comes with a 250 GB HD.
I have a 'Pro' system and that came with a 60 GB HD.

I guess some people have a house that running CAT 5 from the router to the TV is not feasible
See thats what i want to know , whats all this garble. Ethernet is the from my cable modem to the computer right? So how does the xbox hook up to the webs.
And somebody mentioned wireless controller rechargeable batts, what is other little options that you find out six months later that you dont know how you lived without.
The 20 gig HD was discontinued you might find one still but they don't make them anymore. They only have the 60,120,250 now. OP, Buy the MW2 edition and forza 3 and you will not need to buy a game for a LONG time.

yeah there is an ethernet port on the back of the xbox to hook it up to the net, if you have a router then you can run a cord from the router to the xbox that way you can be on the net and the xbox live at the same time,
now if you dont have a router you can unplug the ethernet cord from your computer and run it to your xbox,
or if you have a wireless router you can buy the wireless adapter for the xbox for 100 bucks and not have to worry about the silly cords,
and yes the controlers are wireless so they take batteries 2 AA's
you can buy a rechargable battery pack so you dont have to go through AA's
also you can get wireless headset for playing on live or the wired one,
it sounds like alot of garrble but as soon as you get it you will see its not that complicated
yeah dont get the arcade if im not mistaken it doesnt have a HDD and no wireless controllers.
between assassins creed 2 and COD MW2 it will be a while before you need a new game. i need to look into Forza 3 though. recently i just picked up the new wireless N adapter for 360 for $79.99 they had it priced wrong so i got the shelf price and also if you pick up MW2 or left for dead2 at best buy you get $20 off a 12 month xbox live account which brought it down to $29.99
It is best to have the hard drive and run your games from it.They run smoother and the xbox runs cooler and quieter.I just got MW2 box set to replace my older one with the 20 gig.The 20 will only hold 1 game at a time.
they make gaming routers for 50, that connect to your ethernet port.
To the ps3 fan boy, i see what you did there
I was going to get an XBOX until I found out that I also had to spend $100 on a wireless adapter and on top of that $50 to get the dongle to use the optical input on my surround sound.

Or you can just hardwire it to the back of your router with the SUPPLIED cable.
You wont need a 250gig HD unless you are downloading music or movies.
I have a 20gig pro system and currently have like 13 gigs of free space.

reREAD my post ,
The ps3 comes with all but at a price(599,499,399) UP until recently when 299 came about (it still does not support HARDWARE dts HD or true hd) . So lay off the fany boy crap
also optical input is not needed when you have HDMI, so either your receiver is old and shouldn't be whining , or you just don't know anything about consoles

I used up my 20gb hard drive quick, ended up with a 120gb now since I got the GTA episodes, forza 2 addons, and other addons for games which take up a bunch of space.

I think it is YOU that needs to lay off the fan boy crap. I'm not whining in the least..... I perhaps am giving the OP a good perspective on how things could possibly work with him. Please quote me where I say "get a PS3 it's better!".
I have a house, one that I'm quite proud of. I'm not going to lay down Cat 5 around my house to wire up something. I would have a XBOX right now if I did not have to spend $550+tax to get it setup the way I want it. I was in this guys shoes when MW2 came out and when I looked into it I said never mind.
