You are correct. It is only for testing purposes of course. It wont be on the production aircraft, though some people assume it will be cause its in the pics. I dont know why the marketing dept, doesnt chop it out in some pics.
It is not on there anymore though. Now they have one that comes out the side of the nose with a small camera in it. The spear has since been removed.

The jet is amazing. Last summer we were testing the engine... basically strapped the jet down to the runway and put it at full throttle. That was an amazingly loud sound from 30ft away!
I work for Goodrich Cabin Systems. We can build any interior out there. Cessna, Hawker, Piper, Embraer, Bombardier, BBJ's, Dassault, Air Force 1, ect .
Yea, we are starting to see a turnaround here but who knows. What is cool about the industry now is everyone is updating their interiors. NBAA was very cool this year to see all the new concepts. We just completed two mockups and working on two more.
I'm guessing you're a design engineer. Most of our DE's really enjoy what they do. I'm glad everything worked out for you.

I was a systems and design engineer, which is what I like to do. But we (engineering manager and myself) decided it would be good to be on the stress analysis side of things for a while as a good base for going back to systems so i can do it all myself!
Have you done anything with Cirrus?

Love hearing about people taking jobs for less than they could make elsewhere because they understand that being happy at work is more important.
Being happy in your job ----> better quality work ----> more money.

Congrats on the job. Note to self, research this jet and the company for future investment, looks like a winner.
