Has anybody installed a GT-500 rear spoiler/wing on their Mustang GT? I am not a fan of the stock pedestal wing and have read it is a direct bolt-on to factory holes. Please post a pic if you have done this mod.
It's a direct bolt-on if you get the OEM piece; if you purchase a GT500 spoiler that is an aftermarket I believe that you don't use all the existing holes and you use some sticky tape. I don't have any pictures but I have seen some and it looks really good.
I think you have a double thread going on here for the same subject. Anyway, I installed one about a month ago on my GT. Not only does it directly bolt to your existing OEM spoiler holes, it uses a industrial strength 3M adhesive to insure security.
I think this spoiler looks the best on the S197's.
The install is very straigtforward. The hardest part is removing the adhesive left by the stock spoiler. Other than that, it bolts right up and uses 3M double sided tape.
The best place to order from is this place. Paint is a perfect match, great customer service is awesome and shipping was quick.
can't wait to put on of these on my car. by the way blck04gt your car is beautiful. are those ccw wheels? and are those factory painted calipers? if so can you post some pics of them?

They are OEM calipers painted with Duplicolor red caliper paint. The wheels are True Forged Speed 7's. 19's all around.

You don't fill any holes, you use the 4 OEM mounting holes.

Their is a difference between the spoilers from ford and the ones from the spoiler store posted above. The ones from ford (the actual shelby part) have 4 screws that line up with the 4 factory holes. The imitations only have 2 that line up. They have an optional 2 but you have to drill

That's true but to me it is not worth another $100 for two more bolts. It is the exact same thing minus that difference.
Once it is mounted on the car you cannot tell the difference between the $95 one and the OEM Shelby piece.
^ for true. I have no problem drilling to holes. and you save a lot more than $100 because you don't have to get it painted
You don't even have to drill new holes, it is just that the factory pedestal spoiler leaves four holes and the non-ford spoiler only uses two so you are left with 2 empty holes.

What do you do about the two empty holes? Fill them? I would be concerned about corrosion over time.
