Procharger F1A-C severe vacuum leak and a bad power steering pump
Compared to the 03, all I can say is WOW. I no longer hate stick axles
Congrats. Feels good, doesn't it!!??
The reason you think the stick axle feels better is the fact that it's much more efficient than the compromised condition the IRS comes from the factory!

Yeah I can't WAIT to get my hands on it this weekend. I carpool to work so . BUT at least I won't be picking up rock chips left and right.
Is the clutch hydraulic? It feels really soft and touchy compared to my 03, I haven't gotten used to the engagement point just yet.
Do what I do. 1 week the 03 then 1 week the 07. My 03 has all the suspension MM coil over ,CC plates, sub frame, irs from MM sport, also has lsd, etc, its the full track car. It feels WAY better then the 07 to drive. I need to wait till more suspension company come out with parts to make my 07 feel as good as my 03. 07 feels like i was driving my cobra 96 again. IMO real sport cars must have irs.
I thought the R had 14" brakes ????
thats why they had 18s on it i thought
nope................It packs a 5.4-liter, cast-iron version of Ford's Triton V8 with a forged crankshaft, Carrillo billet steel connecting rods and forged aluminum pistons yielding a compression ratio of 9.6:1. Even more impressive are the engine's aluminum DOHC cylinder heads, which were inspired by those of Ford's Rough Riders off-road truck racing program. Combine this with more aggressive cams, tubular exhaust manifolds, larger throttle body and low-restriction intake manifold and the parts list looks more like something found in a racecar than a production machine. Impressive hardware regardless of your loyalties, and that's just the engine.
Changes to the chassis were even more aggressive and necessary given the Fox platform's age. The R packs huge 13-inch Brembo rotors and four-piston calipers in the front--enough braking power to stop anything short of a moving house. Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs at each corner help the cause as do the four 265/40ZR-18 BFGoodrich g-Force KD tires.
Functional aerodynamic additions include the wind tunnel-proven front splitter and huge rear wing. In other words, this Mustang is a far cry from the ho-hum GT model.
striking distance of the featherweight Elise. The score in 60 to zero braking: Cobra, 122 ft.; Elise, 119 ft.

irs is overrated for performance. a top of the line live axle can outhandle 90+% of the drivers out there. meaning less than ten percent of the driving population would have the skills and the balls to take a proper live axle to its limits.
and if you just want a soft nice ride, almost any car can give you that!
this is a qoute from an 05 mustang gt owner with the new live axle griggs setup. he also has a gt500 and lives in socal.

..........just as long as there are no bumps in the road
Why don't you let someone who actually owns and drives both cars make that assesment? Besides, I've never heard of a live axle "outhandling" the driver. What does that mean

a driver who has neither the courage or the skill to take the car to its limit.
The Ferrari Club Virginia City Hill Climb is an event the Griggs Racing staff enjoys attending each year. The 5.2 mile course, on route 342, has some breath taking views and death defying cliffs. Ride along with John Griggs in his 660whp 98 GR40 Cobra Convertible (daily driver/open track car with SLA upgrade) as he demonstrates the cars sure-footedness up the hill. Every part including the convertible roll bar is available for purchase from Griggs Racing Products or the Griggs Racing Dealer nearest you. BTW: No Ferrari has been able to beat John’s time. I hope they let us back next year.
My dad just picked up his GT500 May 23rd. I drove it about 25 miles so far. I love the car. the steering is incredibly tight, and it feels like you are in a space ship compared to my 96 cobra. The car is much bigger and you sit higher in the car. And the speed...I run out first....lightly shift to 2nd...hold the gas a little more...and look down and I m going 80MPH. You feel like your going 40. So quiet and smooth...Ford really pulled out all the stops on this car....Can't wait to really lay into it next time I drive!!
