On the 500CJ, yes it is an interesting venture. Unlike the Cobra R's which were fully street legal, the race cars you mentioned above will have a different/unique buyer since these cars are offered with no title. It will be neat to see how the 500CJ does with the "now building" competition shown below........................

And then the street version of the Challenger, both R/T and SRT-8 are offered in 2009 with a "Track Pack" (Drag Pack) option with 3.73 or 3.91 axle ratios and 6peed with pistol grip shifter, COOL!!!

This is Exciting!! How long can this possibly last?!?!?!

Will the Camaro make it into the arena to play???

The basic Super Snake package is a 600+ HP vehicle with a price tag of just under 30k. When adding that to the original purchase price of your GT 500, it becomes more than comparable (a bit less) to the KR MSRP of just under 80K. Being that all the mods are done by Shelby on the SS, in normal economic times, one would expect the SS value to hold. The KR will of course be more limited (not necessarily better) in that any and all GT 500 owners can take their car to Shelby and get the SS package. To get a KR, you gotta buy a KR. I threw in the new CobraJet merely from a race and collectability standpoint.

Challenger looks great and we can all just hope that the Camaro does make it to showroom floors............nothing like the good old days of Ford, Chevy and Mopar, slugging it out on the street and track!!!!!!!!

And so far, we are only about 500 cars apart in production numbers KR vs. SS.

SS 1000 2007's (originally 1250)
SS 1000 2008's

KR 1000 2008's?
KR 500 or 600 2009's?

Not much difference in the current projected production numbers, so far.....................

I'm not sure...........The CJ info. mentions "A Stock competitor" and NHRA Stock Eliminator Legal Interior" and then the Challenger info. mentions "NHRA's Comp, Super Stock and Stock Eliminator classes". My guess is that these two cars, depending upon specific configuration will go head to head?

They very well could be? The fact that one is N/A and one F/I will make it very interesting to see how the governing bodies will "level' the field.

Super Snake (with a Griggs suspension). I would rather not have the 20" wheels though.

The 20's are a hanging point with many. I had to get used to them myself. I have seen that one of the guys on the SAI forum bolted his original GT500 wheels back on his Super Snake, IMHO, it looked good!!

That is my guess also. I am 6'4" so I will be able to get a signature above many of those on the wall, however, few are tall enough to be able to read it!!

I like the look of those 1/4 window louvers. They are much more "retro" than many of the others on the market today.

928gtp Check on Shelby Autos there are some guys selling there reserved spots. So if you want to get it quick you can buy there 10,000 deposit from them and get your car up there. But with Shelby it is going to be a slow process.

If you are asking how long the Super Snake package will be offered, the totals are as I posted above (post #27), 1000-2007's, 1000-2008's. This means that if you own an 07 GT500 in 2010 and decide to have it Super Snaked, Shelby will do it as long as the 1000 production number has not been met. The current wait is 1 year+. The current economy has been a factor in some selling their SS deposits, some have gotten tired of the long wait, and then there are those who have just had a change in their life and that $10K deposit (plus the total conversion $$$) could be used elsewhere.

First thing I put on my car were those exact same 1/4 panel window louvres along with the "Old School" Mustang racing side mirrors, painted to match my car in Performance White. With those 2 additions and my "cue ball" short-throw shifter, its getting pretty "retro".........just the way I like it!!!!!!!!!
