This of course is my personal observations and opinions, First of all this combination is just wrong IMO paired with the Long tubes. I now understand why they pair the Hpipe with these mufflers. The tips stick out quite alot furthur than the FRPP 5GT exhaust. At idle the exhaust is extremely quiet. At normal cruising the mufflers are also very quiet. The mufflers have no drone what so ever.which is good. As you get into the throttle the exhaust is extremely high pitched (dont like it) and fairly loud. At WOT it is very high pitched and somewhat loud.. Not good! Downshifting the exhaust is popping (kinda like Magnapacks) not good! I have a few options or choices. 1. Take the headers off to quiet the high pitched sound. 2. Install an Hpipe which I will have to get made since there is not one available for Kooks Lts. 3. PUt the FR 5GT exhaust back on which has an excellent rumble. 4. Finally I can live with it and hope to get used to it. The exhaust has maybe 5 miles on it so there may be some change after a few miles/ Again I am not forcing my opinions on anyone else. I am sharing to maybe help others that are considering this exhaust. If you dont agree with me I respect your opinion. Please share your thoughts if you too have installed the M-5230KR axleback
Give it some time, the headers on my last car took a few trips to settle down. Now I'm not saying it will sound a lot better in your particular case, but in mine they sounded totally different after 50 miles.

Do you mean the mufflers the headers have been on the car for quite some time
huh, I have seen the KR's and they def do not stick out farther than the 5GTs
Are yours installed right, could you post pics?
I agree, the KR muffler is not really designed for your headers, it sounds nice with the stock x and manifolds or with an h pipe
Ok here is a pic of the car with the 5GT and then some pics I just took with the KR you decide. BTW there is only one way to put the exhaust on. The axleback will only go but so far over the midpipe, I have changed this exhaust out several times, I did put the car on ramps and plan on taking the car to the local muffler shop to try to tweek them some
very happy with my 5GT's...........it's been said by others.........the kr tips are ugly., look cheap

Are you using a 2.5" or 3" Midpipe? Most Kooks setups I've heard on the Web have all sounded a little 'blarty' to me.
I've got a pair on the way to replace my 5GTs. I will take before and after vids, then add my SLP Xpipe to the mix and see what I can get.

the xpipe is 3" and then reduces to 2.5 with the stock exhaust pipe. Good luck with the setup with an OR pipe. IT is gonna be pretty loud. The KR's are quite until you go WOT and then I swear they are louder than the 5GT's (or at least higher pitched)

It's a catted midpipe. Hoping it flows a hair better than stock

thanks for posting!
Could you take a pic from directly behind as well and direct from the side to get the full effect?
Also, I like how you say it gets louder when you go wot, that is when I want noise
I will have my KR's on today coupled with my Kooks Lt's...I'll give a second opinion later. If it's anything like you say I will put my SVT1's back on.
