Can't wait, my girl goes in Saturday for some headers/SVT1's and tunning

Well time to chime in here...

I have Kooks Headers w/ Catted X.

1st: I had the system with Borla Stingers (FRPP Stingers). This was a great setup. Yes- it had some drone around 1900-2100 RPM; however, it screamed and turned heads.

2nd: I decided to install the FRPP SVT-1 mufflers. Very nice indeed. NO drone and mild until WOT. WOT sounded pretty rowdy. This setup reminded of just a set of axlebacks with the stock setup. Definitely tone downed the headers.

Finally- to sum it up. I now have the Borla Stingers back on because I wanted a real head turner. My car is not a daily driver, therefore, drone is not a big issue for me. I'd rather have something that really screams!!!

Now don't get me wrong. The Kooks Headers with the Borla Stingers are not crazy loud but just right in my book.

If you want to mellow out the headers then the SVT-1's are the way to go.

Jay

Are those 1-7/8 or 1-3/4 primaries on the headers? Can you get us some vids?

I agree that the SVT1's are a good muffler with LT's, and keep the regular driving volume VERY reasonable (wife-approved!) and when you get on it, it gets quite loud. I'm running 1 7/8" Dynatech's with 3" catted X-pipe, and was concerned about the car sounding too obnoxious and cop-baiting.

I installed mine on stands by myself and it was most UNfun. Getting to the bolts to tighten them made me want to shoot myself. On the plus side, I didn't have to drop the K-frame or jack up the motor. Seriously, it was a truly suck install.

Here are 2 small clips the shop took for me
I got her home during 5 o'clock traffic, Sounded good.
Now I'm on my way out to bang some gears and see how she sounds
under WOT...........

And the 592 run

I have the Kooks...I think they are SWEET. Everyone I talk to says it was a great modification especially if you are upgrading the supercharger. Yes, at first it is a little hard to sallow the price and install but after it's all said and done- you heard your car.

A big smile creeps on your face..."Hell Yeah!!"

I will be posting a video of the Kooks. I'm in the process of finishing it.

I will be installing American Racing long tubes and Borla Cat Backs this week. Going to install myself in the driveway. Does Chimazo or anyone else have any hints for the install? Thanks
