You knob, Coletti is the reason the GT500 is here today and had plenty to do with its developement.
Who gives a shit that it is Shelby's name on the car and not Coletti
Show some respect you half twit
There would be no Coletti or performance Mustangs if it was not for Carol Shelby
I don't care what he *used* to be; that's not what he is now.
THX used to mean something and establish a quality standard. Now anyone who pays the licensing royalty can slap a sticker on any piece of junk and Lucas doesn't care as long as it gets the money.
Sorry, being big in the past doesn't mean you can sit on your butt now and just slap your name on something somebody else built and maintain the respect of the past. I have no respect for washed up has beens to riding out a name that used to mean something 50 years ago and pretending to be relevant today without actually, you know, being relevant.
What did he actually do besides give a thumbs up, post for a media photo shoot, and sign his name on it, and artificially bump the price $30k? That's right, nothing.
In my view you earn your keep day by day by what you do, you don't just do something once and expect to be praised for it for all eternity. At least not by me. It would be a little different if he'd actually been hands on with the project from scratch and turned a wrench or two and actually had some engineering input, then it might have some meaning. Nope, just signed his name on it, nothing else. Pure marketing ploy.
I have no particular beef with Shelby, it's just a tiring trend I see everywhere. Cell phone companies, Hollywood movies, video games, the 150th remastering of Starwars... and now special editions of cars every 3 days... everyone out to put a different sticker on the same product to sell it again and again instead of actually innovating things... and idiot consumers just buy it all up.
PS: I fully support capitalism and taking money from stupid suckers who want to give it to you, just saying. It just gets old and tiring for those of us who aren't suckers but still have to be surrounded by suckers on a daily basis; your eyes get sore after rolling them all day at people. I have no beef with the actual car either, but unlike some I couldn't care less that it has a Shelby sticker.
lol, no surprise here, greedy asses! If my car didn't have shelby name on I wouldn't lose any sleep, I got it cause it was a 5.4 supercharged mustang!
x16
Plus the modding was so effective on these cars, and I knew it wouldn't be long before a twin turbo setup came out so it was worth me buying it to build!

Dude he is 86 fawking years old
calm down
It is a tribute to him
Sort of like the Enzo
That ferrari was a tribute to their racing ledgend
We have ours and we have our Shelby Mustang cars that adorn his name as a tribute to the most successful racer/business man in this country

Just buy a ps3 or Xbox360 racing game featuring the GTR
Same experience
The car drives itself
Ur killin me Chuck. I admire your loyalty, but for the extra 40k the GTR gives you a truly unique supercar, in class with the Z06. The KR gives you, humm....a CAI and nice wheels? Besides, I like Xbox360.

The GTR in stock form is no slouch but it aint worth 80k IMO
I'd take an 07+ z06 or viper any day
They are faster stock for stock anyway
How often do you race someone around a track where the GTR would win anyway, not often cause I don't drive on tracks lol
I would not pay 80k for a KR either, unless I was rich and money did not matter so I guess we agree, just not that a GTR is worth 80k
i'm not sure what kind of train of thought you need to say the GT-R isn't worth $80k(it's worth every bit of it), though it would still be near the end of my list of vehicles to own in that price range.
