I should've posted earlier but the idle is down to 750 now. Acts just like stock now.
03-31-2010, 02:20 PM #30

Brian, Those number are truly shocking between the Accufab and the Stocker...
I am sure there is a good difference stock to stock, but wow ported to ported is insaine.
What timing are you running and fuel at the time if you don't mind?
After the E85/Auto I am going to have to break down and get a dragon..... :kicks rocks:Originally Posted by LuDamiKE81 View Post

It might pick up 4 or 5hp or so. If you use us you can easily do the tb/plenum combo now and we do not need it back to match your blower to it this winter. It'll be port matched without you sending it back in. One nice thing about the CNC is it always does things the same way.

Any reason why my unmolested Dragon sees a peak of 18 and holds to rev. limiter over the ported unit used in this exercise?Keith

What would it cost to port my stock t/b for my Whipple? Also would I need to open up the inlet openings also?

Brian is it worth it to port my stock TB on a T76 car? PM me the cost because while the motor is out i want to do some little things....i like the drivability of the stocker

Have you done or seen any testing on Whipple cars using a stock or ported stock tb and then switching to a BBK twin 65 or ported BBK twin 65 if so what gains have you saw?

^I'm sorry but I haven't seen anything on that. If it were me and a ported stock throttle body and a PORTED BBK were sitting side by side I'd go with the BBK unit myself.

I have a BBK on mine a buddy of mine has the same set up as me but with a ported stock TB but he does have a ported BBK to use but he cant decide if its worth using. He thinks he may have some driveablity issues with it. At 19 psi how much of a restriction would you say a ported stocker is?

so are you saying it is better to get the stock tb and plenum ported, rather than buying an accufab tb and plenum?
03-22-2013, 07:41 PM #50
just goes to show how good a ported stocker can be. imagine the savings of money by porting something you already have. not paying for the dragon or accufab then paying again to port them. i guess if your gunning for every last hp its worth it but i'm all set for a street car. oh and no messed up idle issues you see way to often with sbtb. thanks for the info!03 dsg vert, steg stage 6, ported lower intake, throttle body, plenum, evenflow injectors, kb bap, jlt gen II ram air, upr o/r x, borla stingers, rxt, full tilt boogie irs, and all the other usual bolt ons.
