Take it to a road course and the drag strip a few more times. That would be hilarious.

I'd never be able to have that on my car. 90% of my miles would probably be over 80.
    Be well.

Progressive has the same thing. I was going to participate but I've been a member for such a while that I am grandfathered into some really good rates and the program would have ended up costing me more even at the best savings. Like right now, I only pay 30/m for my yota. . If I didn't have tickets on my record I'm sure it would be better.

And tracking... lol. I'm sure they are REALLY interested in tracking some smojoes whereabouts....

I would get one for my wife but I use her car sometimes and I'm ruthless with it. It's a lease, lol.

Don't they track you for a while and then average your driving? I believe that's how it works to get an accurate result and discount.

my wife ordered it and wanted to "give it a try". they didnt have it available for the civic yet so we gave it a shot on the acura. i expect a full 30% discount on the civvy.

thats what I'm worried about. They start it off as something that you can ask for and only get savings from. But how long before they decide to make it mandatory and make it possible for them to charge more based on how fast you drive.

wouldnt work, can easily be disconnected.

only way around that is to require it be wired in conjunction with allowing the car to start and remain on, which isnt gonna happen

....as some of you are already undoubtably thinking, this "device" is just the first step in a systematic desensitization to yet ANOTHER much larger "big-brother" type of agenda.

I can see the (initial) novelty type allure of such a device along with the appealing thought that one might actually save money with its usage. But again, it, along with modern type automotive "black boxes", street cameras, and PROPOSED (future) ability of law enforcement to be able to "limp mode" your car at their will all points to one VERY SCARY infringement on privacy statutes......

To sum it up ------- !!! NO THANKS !!!
