One of the problems I found is the clearance of the runner tube to the outer hat, front tubes are very close to the hat. I mild ported mine and just cant seem to make myself cut off these tubes. My engine in stock form with the FTB Ait intake kit and tuning on my dyno has resulted in a very consistent 410rwhp when the motor is hot, if I was to impress I would say it make 422rwhp with a cool engine intake. My new plan it to improve this to 500rwhp and get the curve smooth. 2000 Cobra Rs have a funny stepped curve which I have attributed to keeping the car emissions legal(Cams).

Well, I've been told the same thing regarding the runners. You would think Ford would know this so I wonder if they actually impede air flow.

Yeah, I'm just suspect that the intake is a restriction-even though the runners are close.

RunFile_001 : Car was bone stock
RunFile_004 : Bassani cat-back and FTBR intake and 90mm MAF with MARV's tune
RunFile_009 : Same mods as above but the tune Adjusted by my buddy Adam

I have no idea why everyone else has such high numbers that have the same mods as me.

When you separate the HP and Torq you end up with a shorter graph, this seems to not show the steps and bumps as much. I prefer to have a cross over that way I can see the 5250 cross and see the dyno calibration is correct "or as calculated".

PS, I own the dyno and have spent hours on it with this car getting every bit I could. Strange what timing and fuel will do.

two options one redo the upper intake to allow 1.5 -2 inches clearance or shorten the stock runners. Keep in mind this will sit on a high compression "11.1 ", TT, P&P R cylinder heads, Custom turbo spec cams and fully built front and irs rear suspension. All under/in a 97 PG Cobra coupe lol it's going to look stock and have a slight cam lope. It's going to be soooooo much fun.

I still have to clean up the welds where the bell meets the runner and those center posts have been removed. I also have other mods planned for it before it goes on that should increase flow and allow for more sneaky things to be applied.

Widening the upper intake will start to get into the fuel raisls real fast-especially with aftermarket rails. You can't go too much higher because of hood clearance and the 5.4L is already about an inch taller than the 4.6L. Billl Anderson on here is making 840rwhp/15 PSI with a centri on a virtually untouched Cobra R engine. I'd say that's really good so I'm not sure the intake has much of any restrictions.

Sweet what's bill's screen name I'd like to check his setup out. Of he made that with 15psi on a centri boosted setup I wonder what the same car would do with a speced turbo?
