First, there are so many complete kits on the market to supercharge a 5.0 that only those looking to be "different" would consider mounting an M112 on a 302, also, ITS NOT EASY and will generate A LOT of heat. Ive seen several M112 builds on 5.0's and they never work quite right and the hot air the M112 pushes will hurt your motor A LOT more easily then other kits. Your ahead to stick with what works (vortech, procharger, kennebell).

Two, if you dont know what size throttle body you have, maybe you should varify that before you go on some multi thousand dollar build. Im willing to bet its a 70mm TB, not many people put 80mm's on near stock motors.

Three, even if you build the motor the block will crack at "around" 450whp. So, unless you stuffing a dart block in the car when you do the motor build I would say to keep the stocker or at most put forged pistons (maybe rods if you get a good price) in it and leave the stock crank as the crank will hold the same power as the block. And basic H/C/I/E and blower combo on pump gas will be plenty to max out a stock block car.

So for you, this is what I would do:

Stock rebuild with forged pistons (8.5:1), unported GT40 heads, holley systemax intake, 75mm throttle body (70mm is fine if you already have it), Vortech or Procharger P1SC supercharger(I would go with the P1 myself), get some good headgaskets, run about 12psi of boost and you should be right around 410-430whp through your auto. That should be enough to get you in the 11's with some decent tires.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Fox mustangs are VERY easy to shed weight on, here are the main ways and ROUGH weight losses for each. I dont know the EXACT weight losses but these are roughy what you would see.

fiberglass hood 25lbs, racing seats 30lbs, remove the interior insulation from behind the interior panels/floor 15-20lbs, tubular kmember 35lbs??, racing wheels varies but about 7-8lbs per wheel, aluminum driveshaft 8lbs, 5spd conversion(lighter than an auto) no clue just know its lighter, AC delete 25lbs if you get everything, smog delete 15-20lbs, PS delete12-15lbs, front and rear bumper supports (under the bumper cover) about 60-65lbs. The front is REALLY heavy (not recomended for cars driven largely on the street).

as far as suspension, coilovers are the best choice, but some lakewood shocks and eibach springs will do fine and will also give the car a good lower stance.

a set of lakewood 90/10 shocks, eibach drag pak springs and some 275 Mickey Thompson drag radials will be plenty for your car to get down the track, your not gunna be making 600+whp so you dont need any fancy stuff, trust me. Anything more than that and your just wasting money.

yes a 351 WINDSOR will fit, you will need a couple different brackets for the PS and AC, you will also need a lower intake manifold specificly for a 351 and if your using the stock 302 fuel rails you will need to lengthen the fuel cross over tube that connects the 2 rails as the stock tube is not quite long enough to fite the wider lower intake. I HIGHLY advise swapping a 351 into the car. The blocks are MUCH stronger and can handle upwards of 800hp on the "WEAK" late model blocks. The stronger blocks (years 1969-1974) can hold around 1000hp provided you keep the RPMS limited to 6500. Remember this is just THE BLOCK, you will need forged internals at those power levels. Although the stock crankshaft will hold well over 600hp. They are easy and cheap to find, they are almost a direct swaps apart from the pieces I mentioned above, and you can stroke them out to 427ci(I advise no larger than 408ci as the 427's extra stroke can cause extra vibrations that can damage the block over time).

I had a 408 stroker in one of my old fox bodies and I loved it. A pump gas 10:1 comp 408 stroker with AFR205 heads, good intake and custom cam will make well over 500hp NA on pump gas, and will run like that for years provided you keep the RPMs limited to 6500.

check out this thread, it will answer most of your questions. I had a guy asking basicly the same questions you are and answer them all in this thread.
build options.
