Bassani love?

Ordered a bassani cat-back and I only can seem to find sound clips with just the cat-back on later model gts. Is there anyone who has/is running there sn95 with just a bassani cat-back? There was one clip it sounded really good but it had an x-pipe (not sure what brand) on it. I hear a lot of great quality from bassani so I'm just hoping for that throaty aggressive rumble out of my 32v

your going to want an o/r midpipe as well. bassani sounds good with an X or an H pipe. With the stock H pipe and manifolds, its going to be pretty quiet.

aw man are you serious? I'm only going to get one or the other since I don't want to spend anymore than that. What would be a better upgrade (sound and power) a bassani x-pipe w/cats or bassani cat-back?

you cant really have one without the other. if you change the midpipe and keep the stock catback, it wont sound that great. Same goes for keeping the stock midpipe and changing the catback. If your on a budget, I'd recommend one of these pipes to mate up to a bassani catback:

http://cgi.ebay.com/96-98-Mustang-GT...QQcmdZViewItem upr o/r x pipe

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAC-O...spagenameZWD1V mac o/r h pipe

with the o/r pipes you will need MIL eliminators. These keep the check engine light off, due to having no cats.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/stmilel.html BBK MILS. add the coupon code "stangnet" not in quotes and it will save you 6%.

Good luck!

Damn I don't know what to do now...I thought it would make a nice big difference with just the cat-back. Thing is I already ordered the cat-back but had to return it because they gave me the one for the GT so I may be able to exchange it for something else on their site (performancecenter)

o boy, DO NOT order from there. I ordered a set of headers from there and they sent me a damn throttle body for a camaro...... bunch of idiots.

you want to order your exhaust through www.ninosport.com or www.mustangexhaust.com Call them for the best price. The internet price is just an "advertisment". Tell them your a member of SVTperformance and they will hook you up.

Eh well it's too late now...heres the link from their site http://www.performancecenter.com/pro...8/Mustang/4.6L
it says for GT and cobra and they didn't give me an option for the cobra (should of ordered on phone) gave me the GT with the different hangers. But how much better/louder is just getting the bassani cat-back over stock?

its going to sound better, but its not going to sound as good as it could. Just get one of the pipes above and the MIL elims. Well worth the extra $200 your going to spend. Not only will the O/R pipe lighten the car a lot, it will add some noticebale gains in performance, as well as sound. The stock H pipe is a VERY restrictve boat anchor.

I'd go for the X pipe if I were you. My buddy is running a bassani catback with that o/r H pipe, and it sounds wicked. I however, Like the sound of the X pipe. Plus, x pipes net a few more horsepower that H pipes and have a more exotic sound.

It would have to have cats since I'm in PA and have inspections w/emissions. So your saying you would go bassani x-pipe if you were in my situation over the cat-back?

The midpipe will net more gains than just a catback. Go with the X pipe. you can buy them used all over the place for tons less than a new one. same goes for a catback.

Hmm well thanks for the info maybe down the line I might get the X pipe. But for now I think I'm just going to get the cat-back on there. It'll still make a nice growl upgrade in sound

I vote to delete your mufflers and replace them with a hollow pipe, and keep the stock midpipe. Thats the way mine is and it sound very deep and musclecar like. It also helps alot to put bigger tips on at the same time, then it will sound even deeper.

Thanks but I would just want a brand name of something being replaced. Deleting the mufflers would be too loud and changing the tips are just for cosmetic

Really it isn't "loud" at all. There isn't even any annoying drones at any RPMs like some setups have.

My 96 GT that has a BBK o/r X, and flowmasters 40 series mufflers is alot louder.

I've went from stock tips to 3" tips on both my cobra and GT and the bigger tips do make the tone a little deeper sounding.

I will try to make an exhaust clip but I doubt it will sound anything like it does in person.
