I bet that's just what he wants to read - there's a great reason to get a self contained blower lol. I don't know that most engines that let go loose all of their oil and if they did normally a blown engine shuts down immediately so the blower does too so that's not a legit argument in favor of a procharger IMO.

I've never heard of a blown blower causing a blown engine self contained or not ?

I'm not trying to push Procharger. What I was refering to is the possibility of metal shavings being transfered if one explodes under load. Metal shavings will really F' up the seals & bearings in either one.
Before I bought my P1sc, I didn't really have a preferance for a certian blower. I was eventually set on a Vortech T-trim after seeing one on a car at a friends house & how it ran. But the Aftercooler was a $1500 up-grade on top of the $3500 blower. I looked at the Prochargers & liked the self contained oiling, plus it came with an intercooler, for the same price as just the T-trim kit, just a smaller head unit.

ProChargedSnake, since you are running 9 psi, I am guessing that your lower end is still stock? How many miles do you have? I have 91k, and am a bit hesitant on throwing 8-10 psi at my engine...idk if I should spend my money forging it first, and then boosting it with some MAJOR boost later on...

I hear ya man, and I wasn't trying to be a d!ck. Actually I don't have a problem with pro-charger as long as the correct one is purchased depending on what the goals are or might be later on. I've just never heard of a blower giving up internally and causing engine damage, or vise vera due to the shared engine oil.

get the blower keep it reasonable and don't rag the car out. Save for the next step while you're out enjoying the car. I put a Novi 2000 on my stock 2000 GT at 109K miles and drove it pretty hard to 123K miles when I only got a new built motor beacsue of an internally leaky head gasket even though the car still ran great. I beleive my head gasket went only as a result of a road trip I had with a bad radiator and almost overheating eery 30 miles for about 150 miles. Plus I wanted to go BIG with the power anyway so the head gasket was just a reason to pull the motor apart.

Same here. Just bought me a "grand pa" Century the other day so that I can tear the cobra engine down. I put my blower on at 101K. It now has 160K. I beat the living daylights out of this thing most of the time. Runs like a champ!! 12.0 A/F, 18 degrees timing(low, because of engine mileage))I did notice though when I was putting in my Spec Stg 3 a few months ago that I had a lot of endplay in the crank. So time for a new engine. I have the Ford GT cams, Comp springs & Manley +1mm valves in the garage. Planning an MMR 5.0 shortblock & pullying the P1sc for 15psi(maxed out!) Should put me in the 550-575 rwhp range. Plenty of power for me.

Still knocks off 24 mpg on the interstate, around town mpg sux, guess thats my fault but has way more fun factor than stock. You can roll the tires off in 3rd @ 45mph if you floor it. Whatever you buy you won't be dissapointed.

I just want to find the best deal that I can. It would be nice to buy everything all at once.
