Carbon fiber interior Poll

i need to replace the grab handles in my cobra since the paint is rubberized coating is coming off, as well as the radio bezel that is doing the same.

so my idea is to have those pieces done in carbon fiber as well as a shift knob and the gauge bezel, what do you think

p.s. i have all black interior

grab handles
gauge bezel
shift knob
radio bezel

don't do it man. it's way to tacky. since i switched to black interior i've been thinking about doing those same peices in gloss black. i think it would be subtle but nice. just a thought. i might do it sometime this week. tomorrow is saved for waxing and detailing my car. i spent all day washing and clay baring it which was exhausting.

the only reason I would ever use carbon fiber on anything.. is weight reduction. JMO.

i don't think you would be saving any weight. i saw in a past thread where someone did one of the handle peices in red cf and it looked cool but still a little ricey.

no colors, just black and gray, thought it may look decent with the black interior.

yea, i only want to do a few pieces, no overkill, im just looking for a tasteful way to spice up/modern-ize the interior

there are a few options, i could do the fancy 3D type vinyl and then clear coat it, which is what JLT does, and its also the cheaper way,

or ive seen a few companies online that you send em the part and they create an real CF overlay for you.

Hmm I don't think it would look too bad if you did just those pieces. I know what you mean about the coloring coming off. Both my door handles are like that on the inside. The passanger one actually has a broken tab, and the bracket that the buttons screw into came off the back side of the handle too. I'm ordering both grab handles and then some inside window parts too so that passanger side window will work lol.

Post picks if you get it done!

tacked on. I've seen the SS ones in an all black bullit and it was a nice contract but it was still just a tacked on piece. Unless the entire piece is pure CF why bother?

I say go for it. I am having some black carbon fiber work done on my 03 Cobra. People that say a little carbon fiber on the interior is rice are idiots in my opinion. Look at it this way all 08 and up C6 Corvettes have a factory center console that is carbon fiber. Do what you like not what everyone else does. Good luck.

+1.. if its TRUE made carbon fiber replacements.. i dont think the door cups and radio bezel would be bad.. but the stuck on parts are ugly to me.. it looks out of place... but i see many of those kits, CF and woodgrain here at work.. and it just looks cheap.. just my .02
