That is not a brake line.

I suspect it is the line that runs from your gastank to your charcoal canister to capture fuel vapor. I say this because you apparently have no fuel delivery issues that I can see by reading your initial posts in this thread.

AFAIK brake lines are solid through the entire car except for the front left and right hoses and the rear chassis to axle hose. Also brake lines are all flar connectors - if you look at the line in question, it has a slip on rubber tube attached to it. This would not support the pressure in a brake line. Nor do I think it would support the pressure in a fuel supply line.

I was thinking the rubber portion wasn't part of the line itself, just insulation to prevent rubbing against the body....I haven't gotten under mine to confirm that it has this but many other vehicles have it like this....I can't imagine on any line the factory would use a slip on rubber hose without a clamp or some sort of hold....

I have -8 feed and -6 return with stock hat and stock rails, Use Aeromotive adapters for the hat and Russell fuel rail adapters made for 5.0 cars. Feed is 3/8" and return is 5/16". I'd HIGHLY suggest doing it all in Russell twist-lok hose, it's so much better and easier than steel braided.

Just make sure the summit brand is ok for fuel. I bought jegs push lok and they had to buy it back. Yes you'll just need a male to male union and you'll need the russell adapters for the fuel rails. Don't forget an in-line filter like Aeromotive or something too.

thanks so much man this is a way easier route to go i will ditch the stock filter and do a summit inline one and with my in tank 255lph and kb BAP i should have more than enough.

One last thing does the pic of the line i posted look to be the return line?

Could still easily be the gastank EVAP canister vent line.

That would be the one I could see them not putting a clamp on but I think three in that picture have that same rubber or what I thought was a foam coating on it.....

traced the line and its the return line. I guess its not too bad since i dont have fuel issues. Im just going to leave it like that until i have the time to just fix the line(im just going to splive in some steel line with some compression fittings) its been like that for a long time anyways.
