I am so frustrated about my sound system. It has an older alpine head unit 460 tweeters, mb quarts door speakers and rear speakers are mb quarts there was no amp so I just put an old one that I had in, and the whole thing sounds like crap! There is no one including chucthfield that can help me...any ideas???? I need to know what to do....

define sounds like crap.
are the speakers blown?

are they wired correctly.
are the eq settings set on the amp?
what type of amp is it.
are the eq settings set on the radio?

speakers are not blown and nothing has been set up

well thats your #1 issue right now until I find out more.

ADJUST SETTINGS.

Who wired it up and how is it wired.
