I scored me a set of MAC lt's a month ago for a great deal and plan on installing them this month. I still need a midpipe for the installation and was wondering what brands of will bolt up to the MAC lt's.
One of my buddies told me I have to use a MAC midpipe (prefer an X-pipe) since no other brands will match up to the lt's; is this true?
And also, do any of y'all have any experience with Pro-chamber midpipes? Better flow then X, better sound..?
nice i have them as well good headers. Not sure on what x pipe fits since i use a mac o/r h

MAC midpipes will fit, as will Lethal Performance designed mid pipes. I belive Dr Gas or VRS also mades a mid pipe that fits upto MAC headers. Not sure though
Do you know how old the long tubes are? Years ago there were issues going around with 4V Mac long tubes causing oil consumption. Left over welding slag would get sucked in through the EGR on the car's first start up. Some people had this problem and some people didn't. The ones that were ok usually bought the headers used or cleaned up the slag and disconnected the EGR on first start up. Mac's argument about this was that the valve seals on the DOHC Cobras were allowing the added exhaust scavenging to pull oil past them. This problem was years ago in the late 90s early 2000s. My guess is that they had a bad batch with left over welding slag and used the scavenging argument to save their ass. These days, the headers seem fine as a lot 4V Cobra guys use them without any problems.
They have a shorty H pipe that mates up to the headers, but only the 99-04 guys have the option for a direct fit prochamber. Any good exhaust shop should have no problem modifying a prochamber to fit the 96-98 headers though. What ever you do, do not order from Mac. They told me that they could make a 96-98 Cobra prochamber so I placed an order and gave them my credit card info. Months went by and the sales rep would not even return my calls, so I just ordered a stainless 99-04 prochamber from a local vender and had my exhaust shop modify the pipe to fit the Bassanis. The only good thing about mac exhaust products is that they sound nice. Prochambers have almost a cross sound between an H pipe and an X pipe. Much like a Dr. Gas X, they sound good with pretty much any type of muffler. Personally, I won't run any other mid pipe on my Cobra.

They're not too old, maybe a year old at the most. I might just go ahead and get the pro chamber and modify it myself. I'm sure I can do it since I made a shorty x-pipe for my buddys lt's on his V6 out of a 95 X pipe.
If anything I might just go with a VRS x pipe, the price sounds pretty good...
