HD Bilsteins or MM Sport Valved?

The only thing stock in my suspension are the control arms and the k-member. I have poly in the front control arms, fron and rear roll bars, IRS cradle and IRS subframe. I have delrin in the rear UCA's and LCA's. MMFLSFC, rear shock tower brace, and Billet Flow IRS bracket brace. I am buying coil overs and I want to know if I should get the HD Bilsteins ot the MM Sport valved Bilsteins. Right now the car is a daily driver, but I would like to do more autocrossing and open track events. Idealy, the car would out handle a 911 and ride like a BMW. Thanks

Outhandle a 911 and ride like a BMW. I think they call that an M3.

Just kidding.

It really depends on the spring rate you want to go with. You can go with up to a 350lb/in front spring rating while still maintaining the HD Bilsteins. After that you need to use the Sport Valved or Race Valved.

325-350 is a good spring rating for keeping the comfort, but also having good handling. And those rates will allow you to use Bilstein HD's.

Actually, I'd like to mimic the M3 in handling and ride. Not sure it's possible with a little ol Mustang though.

Well a coil-over kit should help you get closer.

o and i got the hd bilsteins with my M.M. k-member kit and they do work great. it handles great but still has a fairly descent ride. never raced a porsche or drove one so i dont know how they handle. but i think you will be happy with them. also it should be time to upgrade that k-member dont ya think.

It really depends on the spring rating you want. There is no point in going with the MM Sport valved if the spring rating choice does not require it.

300-350lb/in - Bilstein HD's
375-400lb/in - MM Sport Bilstein
425+lb/in - MM Race Bilstein

The only grey area can be the 350lb/in spring rating. The Bilstein HD's are at the limits at this rating. You can go with the MM Sport Valved if you wish.

Sincerely,

Thanks for all the advice. MM talked me into the sport valved with 400 lb springs. I'll be ordering once the tax return comes in!
