Brake Line Replacement 00R

Does anyone know what brand and where to find replacement brake lines for the 99-04 Cobra R brake kit. This will go on a 1999 GT.

Thanks

I bought steel braided lines from StangSuspensions.com for my 03 Cobra. They were boxed up kits from Maximum Motorsports... The kit was top notch, and installed quite easily...
I would suggest you ask Maximum first about what your trying to do. I've had experiences with other after market parts vendors, and they weren't as knowledgeable so when it came down to doing the same upgrade on my 99 Cobra, I had the wrong banjo fittings sent with the kit... It was a total pain since I had to drive to another parts store who happened to have a big box of fittings they matched up to my calipers... In the mean time my system bled out, and I had a real pain in the ass getting the brakes back to normal... This last weekend I did the upgrade on my 03 Cobra by working one corner at a time, and using one of those mighty vac tools to bleed out each caliper with out any problem. Oh, watch out for the gotcha of putting the wrong hose on the wrong side...(Your Hoses will probably be marked L, and R.) You wouldn't think it's a possibility, but the brake lines apparently are different... I'm not sure if it's the size or the threads are reversed, but that was the only thing that had me scratchin my head... Good luck!

You basically need a fine thread stainless steel line. I believe most manufacturers will fit.

Thanks for the responses!!!

The company I bought the kit from basically had the parts shipped to me from Ford Racing. I have heard from others on the board that these kits should have some sort of adapters that go in between the hard line and the brake hose. If this is true Ford Racing left these out. The company I ordered them from is currently trying to help me sort this out. I ordered a set of fine thread lines from MM but when I emailed them to double check compatability they told me that the Brembo kit requires its own custom lines and the MM lines will not fit, so I may have to send my lines back to MM. Is this true or will the MM fine thread lines work? Everyone I have talked to keeps repeating "this kit is a direct bolt on for 99-04 mustangs" which may not be true if the kit needs adapters.

Do you know if the Maximum Motorsports brake lines will work with the Brembo calipers? The company I ordered my kit from referred me to Ford Racing. When I explained my problem to them all they could say is "the lines are not tight enough" and not acknowledge that the lines I have may be defective.
