We are very pleased to announce a slight decrease in cost for our IRS bushings. We have been running them lately in increasingly larger orders. This has allowed our supplier to make more efficient production runs spreading set-up times over larger batches of parts. This reduction in cost will allow us to pass a slight cost savings onto our customers.
Starting April first we will be reducing the price of our FT 5000 bushing kit a total of $30.00. The pricing of the individual bushing items will be reduced as well. In addition, we will also be including the upgraded front subframe bolts in the kit.
This price reduction will unfortunately not affect our bumpsteer kits or our brake parts.
Stay Tuned!!

Unhappy with your IRS?
Got Wheel Hop, a leaking rear cover or a broken halfshaft?
Getting passed on the track by Corvettes? FIX IT!!
I just wanted to say a quick thank you to Bruce. I can't thank you enough for putting together such a great kit. It has really made my Cobra even more enjoyable to drive. I have zero wheelhop now and I love being able to stay glued to the back of Corvettes on exit ramps.
Just sent my uninstalled front diff bushings in, glad I decided to wait until last to put those in! The new design makes a lot of sense, and I've never seen such customer support before from any vendor, major Kudos are due to you sir!

Sent mine back last week Bruce and Steve said they would ship today or tomorrow. Bruce and Steve have been amazing to deal with. I started bugging Bruce and Steve months ago with questions regarding the Cobra irs. There is no hesitation in the replies I have received from both. Guys at 51 years old I have been down the poly route and all I can say is stay clear. It may work for a couple guys in Arizona but when you are dealing with constant temp changes like here in the Northeast (its snowing out) go with FTBR.
We've had a lot of requests over the years for an installation video of our bushing kit. We have good news. The video has been shot and most of it has been captured and edited. We have more video coming but we did not want to delay because there is a lot of good information contained in what we have done already.
So without further delay here are the initial three videos we have completed so far.
Love the videos just taking a quick lesson on how to do this and I watched all of the videos. Very nice job on the videos. Do you recommend using a drill press and a hydraulic press? I don't have these tools in my garage can I do without them for the install? Do you have a list on the necessary size wrench sockets etc. to do the job?

Glad you enjoyed the videos.
Yes we recommend a drill press for drilling the UCA for the grease fittings but it's not absolutely necessary.
As you can clearly see in the videos, ALL of the bushings went into place VERY EASILY once they are frozen. The lone exception to that is the rear diff mount bushing. We put it in with an arbor press. You could easily use the removal washers and threaded rod in the tool kit to assemble the rear diff bushing if you don't have a press.
Sorry we don't have a list of the tools required for the job.
Update: I've been driving on new bushings and new 4:10 gears for over a week, and I honestly don't know which mod I like better. I am still in disbelief at how this thing rotates through a corner! Also, if anyone is complaining about the noise with lower gears, a mustang is not for them. If I turn the radio off, roll the windows up, and listen closely, I can barely hear them with stock exhaust. Although, I am gear installer extraordinaire. LOL!
The new front diff mount design is sweet!!!! It's as easy as stacking washers.
Bruce, thanks a ton for the help with getting that center section in place. Great customer service doesn't even begin to describe FTBR! I was already impressed by the time taken to help me out, but the next day I get a call, "Hey, how did that install go? Did you get it all worked out?" I would put money on that there's no better service around, or products for that matter!

Yes they automatically conform to any mounting surface angle with no adjusting required!

No the vert guys should not see more NVH than the coupe guys. NVH should be the same in either car. Exhaust note/tone is what masks the sound from the front diff supports. Stock exhaust won't do much to help with the sound.
I'll be sending back your tools tomorrow. I'll enclose a copy of the original invoice. Everything worked great and the disassembly and assembly went without a hitch. As a retired Mech. Eng. with years of RDT&E, RE and Project Engineer on many cutting edge projects, I can say without a doubt, FTBR is a top notch Aftermarket Company. Keep up the great work. It has been an absolute pleasure, knowing there are responsible people, such as yourselves, supporting the Mustang Community.
Best Regards,
Vince

Getting older, the fine print may be harder to see, but somehow, I see everything else, clearly.
Just ordered my front differential bushings and rear mount solid bushing. Looking forward to installing them and seeing the difference they make. I wish I had enough funds to order the complete kit, maybe in a year or so I can get the rest of the kit.
If you guys started making front A-arms, K-members, etc I know that I would def buy those from you too, hell anything you made for suspension I'd jump on. Almost have the amount saved up to purchase my kit here soon, thanks SO much for all the questions you answered, I'm sure you get the same everyday but you were a great help!

Did Drop Engineering steal your design I see their parts on American Muscle and other sites?
Yes, they ripped off our design. They did ZERO engineering, ZERO R&D, they have ZERO support, they know nothing about the parts or how they work, they just ripped us off, plain and simple. Notice they didn't copy any of the other manufacturer's parts or designs!!!!!!!!! Just ours!!!!

We really have no intentions on getting into front suspensions. We are concentrating on being the number one IRS design solution manufacturer in the industry.

Yes, I apologize for not posting that here! We did finish the Bumpsteer III video and the test drive of Jason's car. They have been on our web site for some time.
I think your well known enough in the Cobra community that you don't have to worry about Drop Engineering. If you go on American Muscle you notice that there are no reviews on their products. Do you have your kit patented so you can say that they stole your design?

You can find happy FTBR customer's reviews ALL OVER the internet!

The patent process is very time consuming, expensive and leagal loop-hole filled process that is run by a pathetically inefficient government agency. Need I say more!
And I would add to that sleeve a half-bushing from the bag labeled "LCA Rear INNER", right? And then do the same on the other side's rear bushing, correct?
Seems relatively self-explanatory, but again, I'd rather ask than do it wrong.
Also, if I don't install the grease fittings now, I can just grease the outside of the center sleeve and slide it in. Then, should I want to regrease, just slide the sleeve out and do the same, correct?
Sorry for the questions probably answered in the instructions.
You are correct. The outer rear bushings go on the back side of the LCA. Which would be the rear most position. The rear inner sleeve is the second most rear-ward bushing that goes into the inboard portion of the rear eye.
The LCA's have four different bushings and both of the control arms are identical. From the most forward part of the car working your way to the rear, the LCA bushings are as follows:
front outer bushing
front inner bushing
rear inner bushing
rear outer bushing
I honestly do not like your lubrication plan. Yes, it's going to be a little extra effort now to install the grease fittings but nothing like the future effort that would be required to regrease using your plan. Do yourself a favor and install the grease fittings!
