ET Streets with radials in front?

Anyone running regular radials in the front with ET streets out back? I know I've always been told that it creates a very unstable situation at the top end of the track and that's not something I'm interested in creating with 130+ MPH trap speeds.
Anyone have any comments on this?

We're talking about the bias ply Mickeys right? Not the Drag Radials, the actual ET Streets.

yes i am... the ones that have hardly any tread... close to a slick.. they only have like 3 small lines going around tire..

not the ones with a lot of tread and little lines on the sides going all the way around with two thick lines in the middle..

Yep, I did it one time. Real squirrely going down the track for sure. First two runs I thought I was going to hit the wall. Settled down, got used to it, and was able to focus more on driving, not surviving, after that! Hit an 11.22 at 129 MPH.

Went back out two months later with Hoosier full slicks and ET Fronts. Dramatic improvement in stability. This time, broke into the 10's......

Thanx for the input guys, I think I'm going to stick with regular drag radials for now. Hopefully I can pick up a drag set later on down the road with Bias fronts to go with the ET Streets.

Scary stuff...and big improvement. Will the MT ET Street Radials act squirrely also with regular tires upfront?

Probably not. The problem is mixing bias ply tires with radials. The design differences cause unstable conditions at high speeds. Drag slicks like ET Streets are bias ply tires where as Drag Radials are obviously Radials. So a DR in the back would be the same as the Radial that you run in the front.
The down side for drag racing (and for the IRS) is that Radials don't have any flex in the side walls. Bias Ply slicks have soft side walls allowing the tire to absorb the initial hit.

running high pressures in the front radial tire will help, like 45psi, still its a little squirrely at the top end. unsettling the first trip down the 1320, after that just another day
