I ended up going with the Magnaflow catted x-pipe. I just finished ordering it tonight. I figured what the hell let's just keep the exhaust setup all Magnaflow.
Do I need anything specific for installation?
Next performance mods to come shortly are:
-Whipple W140ax twin screw compressor supercharger (Black/100mm TB) looking to run 13...15 psi MAX
-Billet Idler pulley setup
-LDC Head Cooling Mod
-Gord's Ford Heat Exchanger with cobra lettering
-P-Fab IC Reservoir
-Billetflow TB
-SCT Excal2 Dyno/Tune
Then I'll move into the mix of Griggs and MM suspension parts.
I think you'll be pretty happy. I don't think you'll need any other parts for install. On the BF throttle body , you'll need to call and get on the list, he should be finishing his first run up pretty soon. It's gonna be hard to get your hands on one if you don't do it soon...it may already be too late.

Let me know if you notice any droning at 1800 - 2100 RPMs. It was pretty bad with my Maggie X-pipe/catback.

I was going to switch to the MRT but I think I'll stick with my Magnaflow catted X pipe. No fitment issues, no leaks and they fit perfect. Also the sound is just right for me with the Stingers.
So I drove my car almost all day yesterday with the new Magnaflow x and catback, and there is some drone right at 75 mph in 6th. If the road is totally flat or slight down grade it goes away, but if you have to throttle a little to keep the speed it does drone a bit. It did not seem as bad as Cobrabob's experience, not being able to talk with his wife, my father in law was in the car with me and we talked the whole time with no problem. I still think I made the right choice for me.
Bassani Baffles do wonders for our cars with Mid-Pipes. Baffles are a direct fit !!! Before you install the daffles use a ton of masking tape and it will double the affect. Drone will be history and a 20% reduction in noise under part throttle.

I don't quite understand why you are referring to fitment issues and leaks. I had someone ask the question last week because they heard this from someone. I directed the person to a local guy (great mechanic) who has worked extensively with installing mods on Mustangs. He has the MRT H-pipe. Fit was perfect. No leaks.

Well, that isn't always true. Been there. Done that. I had a Magnaflow catback and Magnaflow catted X-pipe. The drone at 1800-2100 rpms was so bad that my wife and I had trouble carrying on a conversation. LOL! I bought a set of Bassani baffles, installed them (with the masking tape because the fiberglas covering tends to unravel) and while it helped a tad, the drone was still pretty bad. I sold the Magnaflow catback, installed a Bassani (Borla) catback and the drone completely disappeared.
It can be very difficult to solve a droning issue. Much depends on what the hearer is willing to accept. Or what the ear "says" is drone. In some cases the cause is from the mid-pipe. Or it can be more from the catback. Or a combination of both. Drone in the exhaust is due to the engine driving the exhaust system at its resonant frequency. You can't get rid of it (any length of pipe has a natural frequency) but you can change the frequency (RPM) it happens at. The most common way is to lengthen or shorten the tail pipe.
Back in 1998 when I had my Callaway Camaro I had complained to Callaway numerous times over the horrendous drone from their catback. One day while I was there talking to their Head Engineer he mentioned they had built a prototype (1-off) stainless catback with a uniquely designed baffling setup inside the muffler. He explained how it was done but lost me quickly. LOL! But basically they were able to direct the soundwaves so that they worked to cancel each other out some way. The catback worked well and created much less back-pressure than anything else on the market. Only problem was for them to market the system the retail cost would have to be in the $2,000.-$2,500. range and they just didn't see people paying that kind of money. Since they weren't going to use the prototype any longer, he offered to install in on my Camaro for free. I jumped at the offer and was utterly amazed at the total lack of any noticeable drone at any rpm. And yet it had a nice bark at WOT. This was bar none the best sound exhaust I have ever heard. So drone can be controlled or eliminated by the design of the muffler itself. Sometimes the drone is only moved up the RPM range just a bit but not enough to not be noticed. Obviously a drone in the 3,000 rpm range wouldn't be nearly as noticeable because that isn't a typical crusing range.

Do you know this for sure? I called BF a couple of weeks ago and talked to the receptionist about the TB. The impression I got was they were still doing testing which is what I was told back in February and that delivery time was still "pending". I hope your right. This is going to be a real problem for me soon and I will be forced to get an Accufab. If that happens I'm not buying another TB.

Mine fit like a glove to my JBA shorties.........I am going to try a Bassani catted x to switch the tone up a bit. I get bored with exhausts very very quickly!!!lol
I just had my magnaflow catted xpipe installed today and it sounds great with the magnaflow catback I had put on last year. It finally sounds less like a boat and more like a sports car now. Im happy with it.

Oh Bob, you just have something against Magnaflow.....Admit it, lol. I was just solely going off of others complaints. No personal experience of the MRT being a problem. I'm sure it's a great midpipe

I really like my latest setup....Borla 14858, Bassani catted x. Real clean dialed in sound...loud enough when you stomp it!!
On the 03 cobra is the magnaflow catback with a magnaflow catted x deep and smooth or is it more raspy. would adding an h pipe make it deep and no rasp

The sound is amazing I get complimented on it all the time. Very deep and throaty but not annoying. With the catted x-pipe I have had no raspy noises. I had your questions as well and I was/still am very pleased with my decision.

I have the exact same setup except I found it too quiet and changed out the Magnaflow mufflers for Flowmaster 40s. I think it's perfect now. Check video below:

The Mag mufflers had to be cut out anyway so it was an easy splice done at the muffler shop which then gave me the ability to install the IRS brace too.
