a few weeks ago i went to the track and ran a best time of 11.3 at 129mph. best 60ft was 1.92
drove to the track 140miles, let it sit only an hour and made a few passes. didn't mess with tire pressure, left spare tire in the trunk. and didn't fill with race gas.
wanted to just run a what i would run on the street. so a 11.3 is not to bad.
when i was there ran into some wheel hop.... first time with my car, so i ordered delrin bushings kit from bruce(ac427cobra). as well as billet flow irs brace from lethal. hoping this will help me launch my car at the track.
sunday i am going to the track again. this time byron, il.
i am having the car trailered there. hoping that will let my car run cooler threw out the day.
will be taking spare tire off, messing with pressure in my tires, maybe even throw some slicks that a friend of mine will be bringing.
by doing that should i hit the tens???????? and how deep in the tens??????
Well I would definitely do the slicks if you have 18" drag radials. Then whever you're not running keep ice on top of your supercharger. With a towel laying on it of course so water doesn't get everywhere. Also hopefully you have a larger IC resevoir then if you do right before you run drain it down to about 1" to 1 1/2" of water and pack that baby full of ice. In between runs you can jump the IC pump and run some ice through it then also. When at all possible try and be the first in line to run also. This will keep your ice good and useful. If you're not first in line just wait for them to run and before the first car gets back around just pull up last but first for the next round. That right there should get you close. Oh and pull that passenger side headlight out if your CAI is right behind it.

i have stock rims with nitto 315 555r tires..... a little nervous about the whole ice in the resevoir. not sure if i'll do that. and i have my air filter in the fender. so i dont know if taking the headlight out will help.
Slicks or ET Streets for sure!!!! You get just dump the clutch from 4k or higher and let her rip. The soft sidewall will soak up the shock! I see a 1.59 60 in your future, lol. With that kind of power you should be running some 10.60's - 10.70's, at least,
Like these guys said get a nice set of ET Streets or Slicks. They will be much more forgiving on the IRS along with making it much easier to get out of the hole. Just that alone should cut .2-3 off your 60's and put you in the 10's. Why are you scared of packing the reservior with ice?

10.71 @ 133 Best 1/4...Ported Eaton/50 shot N2O
I'm in the same boat as you, I have gotten alot of mid to low 11's @ 126-130 with a best 1.76 60' at the track this year on 18's and Nittos. Now I want my E/T to match the MPH. I think if I get myself some stickier tires with more sidewall I'll be right around the high 10 mark. But lucky for you that you get to go back to the track this year. It's about to snow so I have 6 months to wait for my 10 second timeslip.
Edit: here's what happens when you go for 10's on 18's
slicks and skinnnies, and powershifting and slamming them gears exact, and get urself between 1.5-1.6'' sixty foot and u have ur self ur 10 sec passes!! with a 11.3 and a trap of 129 (call it 130) U can deff call that a 10 sec car! esp with a 1.9 60 foot and ur low 11's.
Yea 18" drag radials dont do it at the track. Heavy cast wheels are good for the street but thats it. ET Streets and some skinnies up front....Done Deal!

Get some 16 inch rims and some 26x11.50x16 ET Streets and you should reach your goal almost immediately, especially in the air we have around here this time of year.
BTW, I was at Byron Sunday....were you the silver Cobra that broke a half-shaft?
