So it got my fuel system installed. Fore Hat, Twin GT Pumps, -8 Line, Duel FPDM's.

Had a few hang ups but all in all it went well and is Done!

Dropped the stock tank. (I was able to drain all the fuel with a tune I uploaded so I didn't even need a jack. Thanks Ed from RWTD for the tip!)

And removed the stck fuel hat & pumps.

A good comparison of the stock fuel hat and the Fore hat.

You have to cut the wiring off the stock hat. The yellow and black wires are for the fuel level sending unit and have to be reconnected.
Here I soldered them to my plug harness and heat shrinked them.

The stock power and ground wires for the pumps are not used in this set up so I just heatshrinked them and pushed them back into the insulation.

Here is the completed Fore Hat with the stock fuel sending unit. (It looks so good it's almost a shame no one sees it.)

And finally I dropped the hat back into the tank.

Here are the Eaton connectors I used. They are zinc plated steel and are very heavy duty. (I had to replace one because it was defective. Thanks Xtremejc! You are the man!)

Here is the -8 line and fitting attached to the rail.

I ran it through the inner fender well like the stock lines are routed.

Here is the completed Dual FPDM Harness all hooked up and ready.

I zip tied the harness along the stock harness in the trunk.

And ran the wires through the hole in the wheel well.

Here is the hat all connected ready to be put back in.

And finally the tank back up!!!! :dancenana:

Now I just need to do some datalogging and dial the tune back in.

Then I may up the boost to 19 Psi. :burnout:

Great write-up. I have the FORE tophat in my car too. When TRBO VNM installed it in my car he said the same thing...that it's too damn nice looking for no one to see it!

It looks like we both finished our projects at about the same time.

I was noticing that the wire locations are different on your hat than mine:

Do you have any idea why they are different?

Michelle told me that the black anodized ones are the 1st batch of hats made available. Later designed ones (like 04sleeper's) are the current ones and do not come anodized.

That is a nice setup. I'm sure those great pics will help others in the process, or thinking, of doing the same thing.

Derek-
You are correct. The black anodized fuel hat was the first design.

I guess that explains it then. :-D

I bought my hat and the GT pumps around Jun 08 but am just now installing them. However, I'm sure the older style hat is just as good as the new style (only less blingy)...:lol1:

Nice write up! Can you post the fuel pump duty cycle @ idle ? And if you get a chance maybe @ redline too :D

~Mark
Will do.

Sweet looking setup.

What kind of fuel line are you using and will there be any seepage issues?

There is absolutely 0 seepage with this hose. A lot of other hoses out there have that problem and smell like gas. That is one of the main reasons why I went with this set up. And the fittings are much stronger than the aluminum ones.

Here is some more info on the hose if you want to read. :read:
