I just got back from the track, and was wondering if my track time was slow. Also post up your track times and mods! I have a 03 Convert Cobra with: bored .020 over stock block, Diamond pistons, ARP studs, full bassani exhaust, Accufab throttle body, CAI, Methanol injection, 2.8 upper pulley, 4# lower pulley, Spec 3+ clutch and steel flywheel, B&M ripper shifter, Poly IRS bushings, 3.73 gears and some other braces. I ran a 12.29 @ 113 in the 1/4 with a 1.77 60ft time Saturday night. I was on Mickey Thompson ET streets, with very little (if any) tire spin off the line. I was launching at about 4200rpm's.
So how does this compare to what you guys are gunning? I look forward to seeing your replys!!!
wow this is going to be a good thread i think.....i dont know abandan for not spinning off the line and the mods you had not to be harsh but thats a little on the slow side man

That is what I was thinking too!! The best I have ran was a 12.26 @ 113mph, without the gears and the beefed up rear end. I am wondering what I am doing wrong now. Any input as to what you think I should do would really help me figure out what I need to focus on while running down the track. I run in Amarillo Tx. so the air is not the best, but I think I should run better than that!!
Just ran my full weight 6sp/IRS Stage 5 + car for the 1st time on Saturday and ended up with a 11.45 @ 121.11 with a lousy 1.725 60 on a smoked I mean smoked stock clutch. I used to launch my Whipped car at 4500-5000 and get a mid-high 1.5 60 but no can do with this stock clutch. I figure with my Spec 3+ and steel flywheel, 2 stage, and 200lbs of weight reduction, 10's will will right there.
Does seem slow for the mods. With my ported eaton which i only went to the track once with. I managed a best 12.67 @ 118 with a melted clutch (I could barely get the car on the trailer after the pass) and launching at 3000 Rpms. I was very disapointed aswell to say the least.

I havent seen a time slip from my friend, but he ran high 11's in the 1/4 with a stock eaton w/ 2.8 pulley and stock lower on Nitto's. So it sounds like your times are a bit high....granted you have extra weight of a vert vs. coupe.

I think most people leave the track disappointed more often than not. It just takes a lot of practice with these cars.

You're trap speed is really off, what kind of power did you put down? With your mod list you should be 530-550rwhp easily and be trapping 125-130mph without a problem. My ported Eaton with a 2.90 upper went 11.4-11.7 @ 123-125mph and with the 2.75 upper was going 11.1-11.3 @ 125-127 on average. I've only made two passes since I added the lower but the car went 11.004 @ 127 right off the trailer my first pass. I'm changing it up a little bit now with a different port and larger TB/Plenum, bench racing says it should go 10.8x-10.9x @ 128-129mph.

So you have a 2 step, what do you have done to your drive line? I have been thinking about pulling my blower off and sending it to you for your race port. I bought my car with the port already done and have no idea who did it. So there could be a lot left in there that you could take care of.
I have the completely stock transmission still. I know I am dealing with a time bomb, but when it breaks I will upgrade. I do have DSS level 5 half shafts, forgot to mention that in the OP.

Stock tranny is actually very strong, you shouldn't have any issues with it. What numbers does your car make?

I have not had it to a dyno yet. I know my tune is super safe, b/c I am on my second rebuild. The first blown engine was due to 5 out of the 8 pistons melting, I was a noob to Terminators and did not realize I had that much boost going into it. That was the way I bought it. The second rebuild was due to my methanol, I got the wrong kind of methanol, talk about being pissed. . So now I am super worried about the methanol system.
How is your Meth ran? You're not running that much boost, that's actually a very good pulley combo for a ported Eaton. Are you running a wideband?
My Meth is ran into my intake about 8 inches before my throttle body. It activates off of my mass air. And no I do not have a wideband yet, These engine rebuilds have been killing my spending money for accessories and more upgrades. Now I have a kid on the way so it might take me a while to get my car to where I want it.

The meth is useless when ran there, it needs to be after the blower. Without a wideband and no dyno how do you know the tune is safe?
o.p other then level 5 halfshafts what other susp mods you have? very important and also what tires (dr's, street tires, slicks) and brand where you running?

My tuner is the best within 800 miles, he data logs and all that other good stuff. I know he knows what he is doing, so if he said it is safe I trust him. The closest dyno is a 4 hour drive for me and I don't see any real point in it.

Steeda lowering springs, and Mickey Thompson ET Streets
Yeah, agree with Kevin: the first issue to look at is your MPH. Not sure who ported your blower, but you should be at 120+, regardless of 60' time.
As far as where everyone else is, the list directly below should give you an idea of what other folks are doing. The median ET is about 11.45 and you can see that most of the MPH's are in the low to mid 120 range.
The list on the bottom in the Ported Eaton 10 Second folks and 19 Terminators have achieved this milestone. Most of these guys are running 500++ RWHP, pretty well setup suspensions, some decent weight reduction, and usually slicks and often times skinnies. These guys are usually launching and shifting em pretty aggressively....
im not ported but im running mods below, and on my 5th pass ever (never been to track in any car) i ran a 12.2@122mph, i do have minor weight reduction tho, this was on bald dr's and my best 60' was 1.8 i belive
