Whipple is off!

Eaton will be on by the end of the week and hopefully tuned next week for blower only. No nitrous yet.

We hope to have numbers from the regular Race Port with the plates on it later tonight.

Good or bad numbers will get posted.

Results

The car was dyno'd last Friday for before numbers and this was the only change. Boost was identical on both runs and it was just dyon'd this evening.

It made the exact same hp/tq as before. Actually lost like 1 hp and 2ft lbs of torque but that could easily be the dyno itself.

Boost I believe was at 17lbs so it seems the little ole Eaton is pretty maxed out.

This was the Prototype Race Ported blower also so I will not be selling these to say the least. It was a test to see if it worked back to back on something we can all trust. Not my personal blower because we wouldn't know the gains from the plates on it.

Thanks goes out to Sam (Cozmo) for being honest and doing the install plus the dyno time. I appreciate it.

Oh one last thing it was a lot louder! I don't sell noise though.

Gotta put my thinking cap back on and see if I can come up with something else. My blower or car will make more but just because it's got a lot more porting done to it other than this.

I'll add this.

This was not a failure. I started this thread for a new idea and did all testing in public. I thought it was a good idea and tried it to see if it showed any gains. I'm sure I'll have new ideas in the future.

I cut my teeth porting on this site and have allways posted what I was doing or trying and I'll keep doing it in the future.

Thanks

Thanks for the update Brian. Can you tell me or us what you did so others wont spend their time on something that doesn't work? I would be interested in knowing.

The car already has a Race Port, ported Dragon, and ported Lower Intake also. So the only change will be the new blower with the plates on the bottom. I hope it responds to the new mod's but we'll all have to wait and see.

This car last time on the dyno made 538/560 SAE. Boost is at 17-18 psi with these mod's.

Posi race ported blower and lower intake, Dragon TB with ported plenum, JLT RAI, Mafia, Siemens Deka 60's, Mac LT's with off road X, Bassani CB, NGK TR6's, 2.76/4 pulley combo, Full A1000 return fuel system with a sumped tank. All this is stuffed into a 93 notch

Anywho here's a few pic's. Still need to drill out 3 IC bolts before it goes out. So now the old owner knows this is his blower.

I did a Race Ported blower but with the plates shown above on it. The car was dyno'd last Friday night with just a Race Ported blower. Then tonight it was dyno'd again with the new one with the plates welded in. Same dyno but no gains.

Sure did look good though.

I was hoping for more trq at least. In theory it should gain little more just like the plate. To me, where the main plate covers, compared to the sq inches on the sides total is close to the main area the main plate covers. So I was hoping maybe around 10trq

BTW, went to the track again last night and the car is getting quicker. There will be a pass in the 10's at the shootout!
