I know its a subjective thing here...i have an 03 Black cobra convertible with light bar and saleen tonneau cover.
i was wondering on your thoughts about the Cobra Stainless Steel Bumper Inserts or just to keep it stock?

thanks

Awful. Makes the car look cheap. The only inserts that look good on these cars are the black ones, and on a black car that's kind of pointless.

There is always the alternative to go with vinyl inserts versus the stainless steel ones to prevent the "bling bling" look. I've got the same opinion and did silver vinyl inserts since the Saleen was hard to see w/o them and the stainless steel ones are meh.

^^ +1 ...i failed to mention that mine are the vinyl "steel" inserts from americanmuscle.com ...and although they are somewhat shiny, they certainly arent like mirrors/all blinged out like the real metal ones.

edit: they DO look more "silver" than metal (as described in the post above)

IMO, the black vinyl COBRA inserts look good on some of the lighter colored cars. I'm not a fan of anything bling or chrome, so I don't care for the SS inserts. If you have some other red on the car, then the red vinyl inserts would look good, or maybe some white ones.

I've never been a big fan of flashy overdone mods on cars, but I really love the way the rear of my car looks with the SS inserts.

Thumbs Up

I have a black 04 and the SS/chrome letters look great. I had my SS exhaust polished and the 2 really stand out.

I think the ss look very good on a black cobra with tinted tail lights.

to the OP what wheels do you have? If chrome go with SS if not maybe a flat black would look cool. Kinda like the lower part of the back bumper. Just an idea. I'm also on the fence about inserts but to date my cars still rockin the oe look.

If you look at the total look of my car it would look empty without the SS inserts. It's completely blacked out including the headlights but there are chrome accents in all the right places. The front snake, fender snakes, chrome 18" wheels, SVT logo the SS inserts, Afco HE with black "SVT" stencil, and the exhaust has had some polishing done. All of these things make the car flow together. To me it wouldn't look right without the inserts.
