How come? Is it because you are too young to have been around when that was all there was, or is there some other reason?
I'm not saying that I don't love the ease of modding, and fuel economy with the modern efi systems, but a properly tuned carb setup is pretty sweet too! Here is one of those crappy, "turn-off" carb(s) on my old '65 Cobra replica...
Oh, and I precisely tuned those dual quads with an Innovate Wide Band so they ran as sweet as any EFI setup out there.

That shelby looks great and no denying a carb'd motor has a very clean look without all the wires etc. It's the functionality and running I hate. I remember carb days and was skeptical of EFI in the early days with "black box" magic happening in the computer but really I've spent so many hours struggling with getting carbs running just right and even when they run right they are NO where near as efficient as EFI. Then the weather changes and they're off again lol.
I can't see myself ever using a carb on anything ever again! Exceptions are my gas powered r/c cars, dirt bikes and other small things that require it.
There went the value of that cobra out da window. Image going to look at this car to buy it. With the exception of the wheels and hood. Popping the hood to take look and this is what you see

ya thats why i posted it without disclosing its a salvage at first, I thought it would be comical to read all the HATERS posts. And so far its been great! I bet some of you guys have more money in ur power adder and fuel then I do in this entire car !!!!!!!!!

I probably do lol but mine will annihilate yours! However I can see where you coming from, got a salvaged car for cheap and had a motor. It's all good man... minus the carb
BTW how's it run? I'm sure it's still fun to drive. Maybe I missed it up above but what tranny did you go with? Please don't say a 3 speed auto lol.
I did a double-take when I saw that second photo. Well, we've seen some very out of the ordinary engine projects over the years. Hot rodding projects sometimes can be controversial to some, but IMO if the car owner has his reasons for doing something different, then it's good. I'll love to see a video of this car.

i have no clue why yall hate it so much, its a salvage car, he has little money in the entire car and it will give alot of cars on the street a good run. i have a budy with a 2002 v6 that he did a 351w 393 stroker in and has less then 8k in it, runs 10.3's all day...downside it has a powerglide

WTF are you talking about?! What value did he diminish? He already stated he bought it as a salvaged car for next to nothing, and if he was to find a correct Terminator engine for it, it would end up costing WAY more than he could ever hope to get for the car, but in this configuration, he could at least get his investment back.
Some of the bullshit in this thread with the internet tough guys saying how they'll put bus lengths on his car are just hilarious! He never came here challenging anyone, or saying he was faster than a "real" Cobra.Where the heck is all the insecurity coming from? I think it's a cool project car, and for the money he has into it, how can you go wrong?
Malcolm, I get what you are saying with the carb thing, but the truth is that most people just don't have the ability to make them run really well. I have kind of knack with conventional tuning, so even though EFI is hard to beat in most areas, I have no fear of building a comparable carbed setup. As I stated earlier, I even employed modern wideband monitoring to datalog it and tweak it to perfection. Funny thing about that setup was that even without a power adder, I could put bus lengths on most TS Cobras because it didn't even have 2/3 of the weight (2,250lbs.)
