I'm not going to post the whole build thread in here like I have on other forums but I will post a mod list and my impressions of the Kit that James from CobraEngineering provided me with.

Mod list:
Rebuilt motor
  • Stock Block - overbored .020
  • Manley -11cc dished pistons (9-9.2:1)
  • Stock Crank/Rods
  • All ARP Hardware

M122 Blower
Adapter plate from Cobraengineering.net
Dragon TB
Slot Style MAF
BAP
60's

2.76 upper
BF Idlers
4LB Lower Metco Kit
Longtube headers
Spec 3+ Clutch
Resurfaced Flywheel
26 Spline input shaft
Subframe connectors
New Rear Shocks
Steeda Diff Brace

To begin, the adapter plates were top notch pieces! They looked great and the machining was world class, and on top of that the customer service from James was un-paralleled! He answered every question I had in our many emails and usually within a few hours, at most it was a day or so. Great guy to work with. I purchased my blower from a member on here for about $350, the plates were $650, injectors were $250, BAP was $200 and that all totals up to $1450. This is considerably LESS that what you can get a used 2.3 or 2.2 for. Uniqueness and price were the driving forces that led me to choose the M122. Efficiency of the improved rotor design and improved inlet design are the other driving factors that helped me to chose the M122 for my cobra.

On to the pics!

She put down 553/556 on BP 93 octane with 17 degree's of timing at Fastlane Motorsports. The 4lb lower and 2.76 upper made 18 lbs of boost across the board with a short peak at 19. Caleb tried giving her 19 degree's of timing and there was the slightest spark knock at the VERY top of the band(he blamed my compression), just to be safe he sent me home with the 17 degree tune. I have the ability to give the car those extra two degrees of timing if i throw some Torco in the tank just to be safe; it made 570 with the 19 degrees. Caleb also told me that with a meth kit he is comfortable giving the car up to 24 degrees of timing which should get me into the 590-600 range. I'm pretty happy with those numbers, the IAT2 temps stayed below 120 the whole time as well (with cool downs in between pulls).

If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I'd just like to share my experience and let the cobra guys know that they have another option in the blower market.

Old news boss.

Im not too impressed with the numbers considering the cost and that a ported eaton can get you very close to the same numbers.

Not hating but I feel the same way. If I go with another blower I will save alittle more and get a new TVS. You do have a clean looking cobra though

His blower ISN'T ported. Ported m122's are near the 600 rwhp AND torque marks which is very close to whipple/KB/tvs territory at the same boost level. Also alot of these guys that are anywhere close to his numbers on ported m112's are running e85. I think wicked just made low 600's on his tvs setup with the dragon TB and inlet. I think it's a cost effective way to get near 600 hp/tq on a budget. Jeremy get that thing ported!!!! I'll be going to Caleb to get my car tuned in a fee weeks and I'll report back with my results. I have a ported m122, killer chiller, meth, and I'll be pulled for 18,20 and 22 lbs. results to come.

Edit: before this gets into a pissing match, I'm in no way saying this setup is better than a Kb/whipple/TVS setup. It's a fairly inexpensive way to make close to 600 rwhp. Wit 16oz of torco( probably even just 8oz if he had very small knock up top) he would've made 570 and like amount of torque with 2 more degrees of timing. I'm a huge tvs fan and plan on getting one in the future but this is a great setup for those not wantit to spend 3500 dollars just yet and that's not including the supporting mods he bought as well.

Quote from the OP. "Uniqueness and price were the driving forces that led me to choose the M122". I give him credit for taking a different path other than the more common ones. Definitely a unique setup. And awesome numbers! I would just love to see the numbers running E85.

Very Nice Jeremy!
James from Cobra Engineering makes such great parts.
You will net good power gains from a port job.
E85 will definitely crank up the fun factor.
Enjoy your new power!

Great job OP, and good numbers. If you ported that blower she'd really scream. Any more pics of the motor?

Nice and good job

I would have expected a little more power even though it's unported. You have higher than stock compression and a 2.0 liter eaton instead of a 1.8 liter. The M122 already has a huge inlet. Unported it is still larger than a ported M112 inlet.

Still badass though

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

Caleb thinks it could have made 570 with the stock compression but he felt as if the upped compression was causing the slight little bit of spark at red line.

Nice. I looked into it but didn't really want to relocate the battery. Not sure how much those relocation kits cost, but I didn't see it in your cost calculation. Are they pretty cheap?

You know better than that ironhand... Ported shelby blower vs ported terminator blower who's getting more gains to begin with ? That shelby ported blower is known to get you on the 600whp range, not a typical # you will get from a ported 03-04 heaton , + if he wants to do E85 that car will jump to 660whp ..hmmm and the 36xx curb weight factor should be a decent beast ! Good job Jeremy

The thread is over on SN95forums
Link Here

No killer chiller on this car right now. That is the head cooling mod. I used the new MMR Head fitting which is a -12 then had the 90* come off of that came around the blower and then stepped down to a -8 and go into the crossover tube. Used all SS lines and AN fittings and it only cost about $15 more than the Gen II Evenflow kit.

Nice build thread. Do you plan on a ported blower anytime soon? I'd at least get some torco and add those two degrees back just to see the difference. I'm running the cobrajet mechanical TB btw and it's a really nice piece;expensive, but nice and I'm very sure it'll outflow the dragon by far. It'll probably take me at least another month to get back to fastlane for my tuning, it'd be nice if you had your ttanny fixed and a ported blower on there and were there again for some tuning.
