Why don't you bring your Cobra out and let's play. You said you can beat them the way your car sits now right.
Let's meet up tonight and get it on vid Bring your friend with the pullied Cobra to. If he traps 125 like you say he does than why wait.
im 400 miles away, and not cruising up there until its time for his NEW tune, it trapped 124.7mph with his old setup 487/480hp/tq, it weighs about the same as your z.

125mph with no tune.... So with just a pully and a tune he should be able to get some 127-128mph trap speeds then... right? Full weight car?
read above about his car, definately not full weight.
and my car has never been to the track the way it sits, the 106 trap was from summer of '06 when it was almost stock.
ill run him to 120 but thats it, 4th gear @ 7200rpm with 4.56's and a 125 shot isnt good for anything above about 120mph. now lets hope no locals see this cause only one person knows about my pill.

Oh I see, since you can trap higher mph in your pullied Cobra than your dad's Z that makes all pullied Cobra's faster than C5 Z06's
Two alike cars aren't always going to be exactly the same in performance. You raced your dad from a dig correct? My comparision is from a roll.
Yes aerodyanmics is going to play into effect if you have two moving vehicles reaching 130mph speeds.
After reading and doing plenty of research on the two car's it really does seem to be a drivers race between a pullied Cobra and stock C5 Z06. It really is hard to say one is faster than the other because one car could be running better than the other that day.
If anyone in that area want's to test the two vehicles please feel free to pm me and will make this run happen.
I don't mean to come off like a prick, but you using that video without having the facts in hand really pissed me off. Using my footage to make some half cocked example was just lazy on your part.
Tell you what, since both cars are sitting in my garage I can probably give you a good idea of it all.
After comparing, driving and racing both cars, unless there is something wrong with the cobra, or you go from a retarded high ricer roll the Pully/intake/exhaust/Tune Cobra will pull the C5Z.
I have more seat time in either vehicle than most people have in their C5z on LS1tech. We bought the thing brand new and it only has 24k on the clock (20k put on it last year), so I would say this C5z runs as good or better than your used one for comparisons sake.
However, it do feel it is close enough that under the right conditions the C5Z would pull out the win, especially if heatsoak condition exists for the cobra.
Believe me, I am by no means an 03/04 cobra nutswinger. I think they are cheap, econoboxes stuffed with decent motors. You can ask anyone, I ride the flaws of these cars more than anyone, and all around I think the C5Z is without a doubt the better car hands down no question. I enjoy my time driving the Z far more.
If you think given fair conditions for both cars a C5z can pull a cobra from a ricer roll, then you are probably right, depending on how hot the blower is. However in a real race, the cobra edges out the stock Z.

I'll make the trip to Austin! I have some friends down there so I can party while I am there and check out the car scene a bit. I know I am more than what you are looking for but it is all in good fun you know...

I agree, I think it could go either way depending on the cars and conditions.
Also, perhaps Musclefan21 has a factory freak! ;)
factory freak? stock 370rwhp just like any other cobras, pullied 455rwhp just like any other pullied cobras. where is the freak? I don't believe in factory freaks. when i ran 13.43@103mph in my bone stock 06 GT, people told me that i had factory freak and now i ran good times with cobra, i get the same BS. there is no factory freak. it is all about the driver and tune.

If I'm going to run another Pullied Cobra it's going to have to be a full weight car. There is no point in comparing a light weight pullied Cobra to a stock Z06.
Lets keep this real guys and stop trying to come at me with you damn ported blower, weight reduction Cobras
??why??? it should even out with your aerodynamic advantage. Dude a 460rwhp full weight coupe well jump on your ass on the 3rd honk and your 360rwhp c5 isnt going to recoupe if the cobra can drive DECENT. Face it...

Jesus.. no doubt the Cobra will jump and hold the shit out of you to 150mph. Here is a vid of my non-ported 03 Cobra vs one of my best friend's 02 Z06 with heads and cam that dynoed at 433rwhp 50-150mph. A stock Z06 dynos at around 360rwhp has no chance if the Cobra can drive.
With a 113 mph I hope you joking. Don't forget were talking about a roll race not a dig. Dig races with two equal cars the winner is usually going to be the guy with the better suspension setup, tires, and driver.
I'm trying to determine which car is faster from a roll
so you are looking to setup an illegal street race in Austin?
That makes sense. About the same weight as a new Z06, about the same rwhp too (~450ish), + the DRs. Excellent drivers have gone low 11's high 10's in a C6 Z06...
Yep, my intensions for this Cobra was to get it to Z06 weight without it looking gutted.
10.84 was done with the above mods mentioned. 2.75 upper only... weight with me in the car at the track was 3325 and I was running a Hoosier DR when I ran the upper only.
Pulling some weight out of 03/04s can make out for some quick times. Although it isn't everyone's cup of tea, I wanted to take the road less followed like Lou (from PA) did back in the day.

that driver must have sucked you only have like 30rwhp at the most on him and he has 600lbs on you.
to be as honest as possible:
z06: 360rwhp 3080lbs better aerodynamics and better gearing, 8.3 to 1power to weight
pullied termi: 450rwhp 3650lbs better powerband with awesome torque curve (if it even curves haha) 8.1 to 1 power to weight
it really seems like a toss up and there is always so many variables it is insane. I would say people with cobras that make that power tend to be better drivers over most stock z06 drivers just like most drivers who mod their cars are. BUT LETS NOT BENCH RACE AND SOMEONE RACE HIM!!!

This is the way few of us drive ours on the street.
I call you said you want to go from a roll there are NO track around that I am aware of that will let you run from a roll. put the crack pipe down and at least be honest
