MaxSimoneau, I purchased one last year and have it sitting in my garage for when I go to put my RXT on. Easy company to deal with, price was fair, and it looks like a sturdy part. I spoke to someone at AMP before I purchased it and they gladly took the time to explain to me how their part is superior to some of the others (doesn't 'neck' down past the splines/same diameter the full length of part).

That is correct.

I have been looking at your input shaft for some months now. Could you give me some background on what builds or power levels they have been used in. I'll be making a purchase VERY soon.

I just installed one with a Spec 3+ and it works great.

Glad it worked out for you. We've had 3 customers complain out of about 200. All 3 I believe were a result of either installation error or simply running a new part against a used, excessively worn counter shaft. Most likely its installation error though.

Looking at the AMP 26 spline, did you need different shims or just use factory and it fit within the .002 tolerance, any opinion on that?

Buy a shim kit just in case you need it. They're pretty cheap.

Anyone else running these? I'm considering getting one.

Thanks, good to hear.

I've got a prescription for you. Nitro NT-01's.....stickiest "street" tires I've ever used!

You thought I was going to say "needs more cowbell", didn't you? Ha

I asked for SVT1389 to be deleted because it's my duplicate account because I forgot this login for a while....just so you know I'm the same person.

Definitely buy a shim kit. Mine had .0055 end play with the factory .038 shim. It did make it hard since the thinnest shim in the kit was .030, and putting in 2 of those would have been too tight. I had one that measured at .0415 which is what I ended up using and got me to .002 end play.

Mine is noisy. I've been told to give it time to wear. Two of the teeth on the internal gearing had dings that needed to be filed off....which didn't seem like a big deal to me at the time.

I don't know that I am willing to put 3k to 5k on the car to see if the noise self resolves. But it appears my only options are to buy a different one, or get a 10 spline friction disk and put the factory input shaft back in.

So I re-measured end play with the trans vertical and with a new gauge and end play was not within spec. Tried .043 shim, still not enough. Needed .048....which they don't make.

So I ordered a 10 spline clutch disk which cost as much as the input shaft and put the stock shaft back in. End play is good now. No more gear whine.

This part is going to the recycler. Money in the toilet. Get the Tremec while they're still making them.

A quick google search reviewing AMP Distributing brought me here so I’ll put this here.

If “Made in Taiwan” is good enough for your car then by all means buy from Amp Distributing.

AMP doesn’t disclose where the parts are made on their ebay auctions for the explicit reason of misleading the buyer into making a purchase.

Best of all when you question AMP about the part you just received being “Made in Taiwan” and that it’s not disclosed anywhere on their ebay auction pages, AMP will treat you like you should’ve known that you were buying cheap sh-t from them and that it’s a given that it’s third rate garbage because the price is so low.

AVOID AMP Distributing

Weird. I have zero issue with my input shaft. Even used stock shims
