I've had a couple pair of Danner work boots.. completely wore out the soles twice on the first pair before I retired them, working on my 2nd pair of boots now and incredibly comfortable..

I think you missed the part where he said he wasn't looking to spend a lot of coin. Danner's aren't exactly cheap boots.
OP if you can get away with running shoes I've been on a pair of Under Armour's for quite a while. I think they are very comfortable. (run, cross train, leisure, etc in them) 50 bucks I think.
