Wow!!! What an aboslutely awesome event on an awesome day! Huge thanks to the 42 Terminators that took part in this event, as well as the 83 spectators that came to enjoy the show. This event was the largest single Terminator drag racing event in history! MIR did a great job as hosts and there were tons of personal bests on a track that was hooking all day long on a day where the DA was under zero until 9:30am!
In the Eaton Class of 20 participants, Larry Pfannkauche (F8LSNAKE) from Warner Robins, GE defeated Justin Tolbert (CobraStruck) of Rural Hall, NC in a great final. Larry, who is the reigning "Eaton King", was super consistent all day, ran a best of 10.56 @ 128.43, while Justin's best for the day was a new all time 6 spd/IRS non-nitrous record with his 10.69 @ 128.68 mph.
In the Open Class of 7 participants, MACA's own JR Lewis put on quite a show and defeated Jack Brecht (Cobra2706) from Mantua, NJ in the final. JR had a best of 8.726 @ 154.09 while Jack hit a 10.213 @ 130.27.
In the Bracket Class of 14 participants, we had an all-MACA final with Dominick Palmucci (CobraDom) defeating Jeff Fontaine (CobraCleric) in unusual fashion......both racers redlighted on the final, but Dom didn't redlight by quite as much as Jeff! Congrats to both for a great job!
Other notables:
- JR's run of 8.726 @ 154.09 further lowered his all time non-nitrous twin screw record that he had previously set last weekend at Mason Dixon.
- jeremiahhussey from Robbins, NC became the 4th Terminator in history to run 9's with a 6 speed/IRS setup with his 9.95 @ 141 effort. He joins MACA's own Ken Tingle and Tommy Godfrey, along with Jay Knott from Strictly Performance in this elite group.
- Justin Tolbert (CobraStruck) set a new all time 6 spd/IRS non-nitrous record with his 10.69 @ 128.68 mph. Incredible efforts all day long from Justin and he also hit a 10.22 on nitrous.
- Carlos Marroquin (Snakesvt04) jumped to 4th place on the Terminator all time Convertible ET list with his 10.064 @ 135.61 run.
- MACA's Austin Murtha (NOXCUSES) set a personal record with his 10.518 @ 130.10 pass.
- And last but not least, the Eaton-powered Terminator folks put on a great show with 7 folks running 10's in the 1320:
F8LSNAKE..........10.56 @ 128.43
CobraStruck.......10.69 @ 128.68 (10.22 w/ nitrous)
BADASS03SVT....10.71
96stanggt..........10.71 on nitrous (11.004 blower only!)
IronTerp............10.88 @ 126.76
04yellowcobra....10.95 (2nd best all time with Upper pulley/no port!!)
Stinkapuss.........10.96 @ 123.07
Special thanks to Jason Miller at Maryland International Raceway, Big Nick (nxt summer) for his awesome job with color commentary, Mike Riley (FISHTAIL) for all his help throughout the day, and our class sponsors: Billy Wise, Jason Roth, and Johnny and Sue Wiker! Special thanks to Jason and Audrey Roth for hosting 40+ folks at their house after the Shootout with a great spread of vittles and beverages. Special, special thanks to my wife Jan for not divorcing me over the planning and execution of this Shootout, and for selling all 74 T-shirts at the event!!!
***If the participants of the Shootout could post up their best effort of the day here on this thread with ET, MPH and 60', I would greatly appreciate it!!! Lot's of list updating to do!

Thanks for the post Dwight. We had an awesome time. You should have made it to Jaspers with us, that turned into quite the event too. Lol.
I think my best pass was actually in the finals and was a 10.55, but I'll have to dig through the slips that are still in the car. My best mph of the day was a 129 and some change. I wish I could have gotten my best 60' of 1.47 together with that mph, I probably would have gotten into the high 10.40's. There were a ton of very impressive cars and huge congrats to the winners and record setters. I can't wait till we can do it again.
Just got home and checked my slips. The final round was my best et. 10.55 @ 128.43.

I left Prince Frederick at 8:40a.m. this morning and got home at 7:00p.m. tonight. Not to bad of a drive lol. All 650+/- miles (one way) and 10 1/2 hours of it. I'm pooped.
Nice to meet everyone and I had a blast at this thing from the time I got there until I left. Thanks to everyone that had anything to do with this. Believe me the participants really appreciated everything you all did.

We left at about 11 from the hotel and just got home at 10:40. We did stop and eat a Cracker Barrel though, which took about an hour and a half. It was a little over 750miles for us.

Seems like most everyone was hooking good, but me. I think with my new found torque I'm gonna have to make some suspension adjustments.
It is a great facility and I think you'll like it alot.
Ummm Larry, didn't you hit a 1.45 60'??? I'm not sure what Justin Toliver hit, but I believe this is the lowest 60' for a non-nitrous Eaton car. I can't believe I didn't make the time to pick your brain about launch technique!

Jake hit a 1.45 and I did end up hitting a 1.46 in the finals on the 10.55 pass, but it was still spinning. I really think the car will be in the low 1.40's when I get it adjusted. Most of the time I was spinning most of 1st gear(even though the car was still moving pretty good) to low 1.50's. I have 60'd a 1.45 with the other pulley combo on the 26" slick, but missed a gear on that pass and blew the run. I should get a few good opportunities as our tracks stay open pretty late and reopen early. I really want to run some 10.30's.
Pick my brain? Lol, not much in there. Seriously though, with the slicks it's just 6000+ full clutch dumps and hope the track holds. I'm pretty decent on street tires too though, that's where the real launch talent comes in, although the spec 3+ hits a little hard for a street tire. Lol.
Hoosier 28" full slicks. If anything, spinning a bit, but that's not necessarily a major hindrance correct?
To me that's better than bogging. Mine was spinnin even on the 1.46 pass, but had I been on the 26" tire it would have been ugly. What kind of air pressure where you running?

yes..that 1.45 felt great!!! was the best of the day to my 10.71 though. after that had a few 1.48s and then low 1.5s in the afternoon.

What was weird, I had my best run on the last run(best 60, 1/8 and 1/4, but not the best mph). I think I may have launched a little softer and it just didn't hit the tire as hard, but I really don't know.
Whats good all! New to the site!
I just want to say thanks again to Jason at Comp Speed and Sound for his time and effort in getting my car back to the point in which I would enjoy it again!!!!
I attended the event as well and thou I can't post and bragg about how my car did I can on the other had claim victory to having a hell of a time, not only from the racing but from how cool everybodys was. I can't brag on my times due to driver error, street tires and just overall learn all together but I can claim that I beat the hell out of my car, it stayed together and I drove it home.
Thanks again to all who had to do with the event and one big thanks again to Jason!!
