Burnout in second gear is much more effective in properly heating the tires for launch. I switched over two years ago and wish I had done it sooner......

You should have little to no problem cutting high 1.6's at least with your setup!

Actually you got it backwards there bud, a second gear burnout gets the tires hotter ALOT quicker than a first gear burnout and its easier to hold it in the burnout once the tires are spinning than in first gear. Every first gear burn out i have done you can feel the tires trying to grab traction and bog where the second gear burout has always felt more effortless once you get the tires spinning.

7-8 second burnout, make sure they're smokin'.....1st or 2nd your choice.....

12 lbs tire pressure

5000k launch

That's what I'd try the next time I went to the track with your car. Go ahead and buy a real clutch for those 28" slicks.....maybe an input shaft also....
