Thanks guys. This time out was my first time on the 28" hoosiers so I was learning what to launch at. For the most part I was launching in between 4 and 5 grand. I'm going to bring it up to about 5500rpms next time out and see what it does.

I was not wearing a helmet. The track I run at doesn't require you to have one on unless you are in a race car. I do have a helmet and I will prob start wearing it.

Randall what did you say you were launching at 4500? i think im going to try and launch a little softer if we roll down next week. i think im going a little high and causing wheel spin. all my launches on Saturday were 5000-5500 so i think im going to try 4500 and work my way up! my last run of the night i dropped at 5500 and had a worst 60' than at 5000 so i think thats were my problem is but i may be wrong.

I cut pretty consistent 1.59 to 1.62 60' times with 4,500 to 5,000 RPM launches and I run the same basic setup as Randall. But to really maximize these Eaton setups, 1.50-1.52 60' times are huge and we're generally going to need 6,000+/- RPM launches for this to happen. Obviously, suspension adjustments play a big part in this as well. Study of the folks below shows that no one has every broken below the 10.80's with a 1.60+ 60' time. Just reinforces that you gotta drive these cars like you stole em to get the best times.

We will be going back to Fayeteville this up coming weekend if the weather is nice. I was told tnt is on sundays but they mentioned something about Saturdays for tnt also. I will post up a thread on hpj.

Matt, when I launch my car I don't drop my clutch. I ease off the clutch and on the gas at the same time at a fast pace. I have never really tried to drop the clutch. I could be more aggressive when letting off the clutch. I will find out this coming up weekend

I would like to see a low 1.5 60ft out of my car. It can be done.

It can absolutely be done! Heck, that's my biggest goal as well. I've talked to MJ about his 10 second run and he had a hechuva day that day. It was in the middle of March, 08' and it was a cool and sunny day. It was his last run of the day and the track was still warm but the air was perfect. He's an excellent driver. Other than the slicks/skinnies, he has a full weight, 6speed, IRS, Ported Eaton 2.8/2lb setup and was running a stock clutch! Here's his runs for the day and a vid of the 10.96:

11.40 @ 122.08 (1.67 60')
11.32 @ 122.86 (1.65 60')
11.10 @ 123.56 (1.56 60')
11.10 @ 124.59 (1.56 60')

Yep. I honestly think a 1.50 60FT would cut a 10th and a half off my time. I also think with weather in the low 60 or high 50 I could take another 10th off. I didn't let my car cool down enough between passes that day. I only allowed 25 minutes or so. I was icing but I think if I give my car a good 45 to 50 minutes to cool off It will help out as well. Also that day I had some small rubbing issues with my slicks on the top of my bumper/bottom of qtr panel. I think I have got that fixed. I noticed on my pass the car felt good but jerky off the line. I'm thinking the rubbing played a part in that. Hopefully the weather will work out for me next weekend.

I read this whole thread, so excuse me if I missed it, but what track was this at? Curious as to what the DA was. People dont realize it, but that makes a big difference in times. A lot of those "fastest" times are ran at tracks at sealevel with weather making negative DA's....
