and a slong as the weather holds up here (no snow) Im going down again on the 29th.
anyways, went down to the SSOTN track rental at Cecil County dragway in Maryland. A storm was lurking there friday which brought in flooding in alot of area's. I drove through it friday night hoping to get a few runs in saturday and the weather said cloudy w/ 30% chance of rain.
got to the track about 9am and they were drying it. they sold 185 tickets and 153 cars showed up. around 1130 they opened the track for 1/8 mile until the shutdown area dried up. I watched everyone skate for an hour or so and then saw a few "fast" cars try to run and they seemed to go ok. Evolution had a car go 6.1@116 so I said ok Ill try...my car seems to hook good. I looseden the front struts in hopes for more transfer for better traction.

ehh..not to bad. but being one of the handful of cars in the 6's I was happy. that would be a 10.1 pass at my home track.
watched for a while and then they went full 1/4. made another pass about 90 minutes later. got got really loose though and got out of it about the 330 mark and then the 1000 foot mark

6.65@101

gave the track another hour to come around and went again wafter seeing a wheelstand

a friend watched the pass and said both wheels were up so I knew I had to calm it down. made a suspension adjustment and went on elast time. only a 30 minute cool down

I friggin short shifted the 1-2 shift...no idea why either. I havent looked at the logs yet but I bet it was under 6000rpms. lol...owell. I got some more seat time in the car. I just wish I had a couple more passes to dial it in.
next up.....Ford vs Buick @ Atco on the 29th!!!

That is a consistant ass car. Consistant 1.40 60ft times is amazing.
I would like to see what that car would run at Commerce though. That is my local track. Ive never seen any good times at that track, yet the big dogs run the Southern Nationals there lol....

as long as it was done a few months in advance I would go. I'd like to try 2-3 big races next year like NMRA....or WSC...
any idea if Atco calls trans brakes / 2-steps "electronics"? up here we dont but I found out this past weekend that cecil does.
if not no biggie...Ill call them this week.
I don't think that they consider them "electronics" but I can't say for sure. It seems to vary track to track. It would probably be best to get in touch with them though just in case.
