The suspension parts are the same, its the bolt diameter that is different. If you order the LCA's for the body you will have to drill the holes in the axle housing. If you order the LCA's for the housing you will have to drill the bushings in the front of the LCA's. Failure to use the correct size bolts will result in lots of suspension noise and ovaling of your body. You can purchase the correct bolts and lock nuts (4)from Ford for $30. The rest of the bolts will be reused from the IRS. The UCA's should always be order for the body due to the fact that all year straight axles use the same upper housing bushings. These rules only apply when using an 87-98 housing under a 99-04 car.
I hope this info helps, btw it is much easier to drill the housing before you build it.
i have a rear end from an '01 GT and my cobra is an '04. im confused on the statement about having to drill stuff? i have adjustable upper and lower control arms. nothing was ever drilled and im afraid of this body ovaling like you mentioned
what am i suppose to be drilling? any pic would be appreciated!
bad a$$ car by the way

If you used the rear from a 99-04 GT which is not narrowed like the 94-98 housing, the bolt holes are the correct size. So long as you order 99-04 control arms. The older housing have smaller bolt holes, therefore if you use 79-98 control arms the front LCA bolt holes will be too small for the body. result is ovaling, the answer for this is to enlarge the front bushing in the LCA.

Well the tranny didn't hold up so well, the car has been back at the shop for a little over 2 weeks now and we're still waiting on Lentech to send Fastlane info so they can send it off.

That sucks.
I know you want to drive that bitch again!
Maybe you should put the 6-speed in it since you are taking it overseas????
Hate to hear that you have to leave again in a few months!
Hope the shift pay is worth it!
The 6 speed is not going back in guys I am going to continue working towards my goal of a daily driver 9 second car no matter what gets in my way! Yeah I'm a stubborn dude but I have set a goal and no matter what uncle sam tries to stick me with my goal will not budge. I am hoping to have the car back soon and at the track.
I have heard stories of those trannys being gone for quite a while before they get sent back. Hope you've got some patience factored in that goal
Bro I am not so much running out of patience as I am running out of time, I have to put the Cobra on a boat for Germany in May, and I would like to run the car.

I hear ya man, it sucks when its out of your hands (and Fastlane's too). I hope they get rolling on it quick, I want to see the bitch run too!!!

Very true, Fastlane has done a hell of alot to stay on Lentech but Lentech seems to enjoy dragging their feet. I will say that Lentech admitted to what was wrong with the tranny was on them and paid for everything to include shipping, and R&R. So I am happy with how it all turned out. I am hoping to have the Cobra back by the end of next week.
Just got to go see the car and the tranny is back at Fastlane but now we are waiting on the Converter. The problem with the tranny was that Lentech forgot to put the filter in it after they dynoed it!!

I have seen alot of them street racing from a roll, but where it is for me is at the track. I like to see how quick I can get down the 1320'. I wonder what all he had done to that car.

note to self: don't buy a Lentech
That sucks man but I'm glad they made it right for ya. I'm picking mine back up on Friday so I'll get to drool all over yours while I'm there
I'm not sure exactly, I am finishing up a project in Rocky Mount and plan on stopping by on the way back. Probably won't be before 4:00 unless I can get my guys to throw some coal on the fire
