So I'm looking to offer a car wash service. Im Part-time worker and full-time student and a little extra cash wouldn't hurt
I wash my cobra 1-2 times a week and I enjoy having a clean looking car. My biggest pet peeve is seeing a dirty car.
Here are my prices.

#1-Full hand wash, vacuum interior, apply oil to interior plastic, and dressing to tires.
$15 for small car
$20 for S.U.V. or Truck

#2-Same as #1 but finish it with a wax.
$35 for small car
$45 for S.U.V. or Truck

#3-Same as #1 but claybar and finish with wax.
$65 for small car
$75 for S.U.V. or Truck

I take my time and make sure there are no water spots or any streaks.
Might charge a little extra for gas if your further away.
Only catch is that I don't have my own portable washing vehicle that has a tank of water. So you would have to provide a water source to where I can connect my hose.

Nice. Might be interested in something for my Cobra. Good prices.

Sonic Blue is like Black, it's hard to keep clean....
I have one as well. Best color out there in my opinion.

But just let me know. Your not too far away from me

That's cheap.

How long do you think it'll take you to wash, clay bar, and wax a car? and you're only making $60? Are you applying the wax by hand or with a machine?

For the #3, what i first do is wash the car. clay bar. wash again. dry. and finish it with a wax. Takes me about a good 2-3 hours.
Everything is done by hand. Never really liked the use of machines.

I use good quality stuff. Usually Meguiars.

I'm not making much profit but you have to start somewhere, mostly because of the bit of competition that's out there

btw. tips are always welcomed :coolman:

if you drive 25 miles round trip to detail a
car you're gonna burn up all you'd make in gasoline.

Wait... what?

A gallon of gas is 30 bucks?

Great prices but don't sell yourself TOO short there.

If you're good the business will come. I've done detailing in the past
and never charged less than $110 for a full detail, and that was cheaper
than the competition...

Just sayin'...

Good luck in your endeavors !!

Thanks for the advice.
I want to build my reputation first.
If the word is that my work is good for my prices, my time will become more valuable.
But if I charge around the same price as others, and my work isn't so good, I won't get much business.

It's easier to fix prices than to fix your reputation.
