Well as most of you know I'm switching to E85.. I'm bored so figured I'd make a thread on it.. Also this thread contains some stuff that I've done since being back in CA... So grab a beer this is going to be a long read lol..

So I got back to CA and starting playing around with my car.. First thing I did was have my buddy install my watts link for me.. Hands down best mod I've done and totally transformed my suspension setup. Changed the roll center to match the front setup and the car just rails..
IMG_1072_zps9dd3f6a9.gif

Now the fun began.. Raced my buddies 2.9L Cobra making 615rwhp on my old pump 91 tune.. He's my best friend so it was all in good fun...
th_VID_20130624_011632_559_zps873c0a18.gif

After that I figured I'd head back up to AED to have Shaun look at the tune.. Since this was the same tune from when the motor was built I figured it'd make more power.. My old numbers were like 600 on 91 and 627 on 93 on 16/17psi.. (My car has never really been a "numbers" car) Shaun built the new tunes.. Results were 605 on 91, and I wanna say like 640 on 104 with added timing.. No change in boost..

The biggest thing was that the car pulled waaaayy harder than before despite the numbers on the pump gas tune, I never ran the 104 tune.. The car drove great and I was a happy camper..

So I decided to run my other buddies Jasons 750rwhp 2.9L E85 Cobra on 21psi.. I decided that I'd probably get raped so I wasn't going to waste my money on putting 104 in it ahaha.. Well I did waaaay better than I expected on my 91 tune.. Actually crazy good considering the power diff.

Sadly during the 2nd run my blower decided to blow a seal on the case.. Oil went everwhere!!! Scared the shit out of me because it was making some knocking horrific noises from the blower.. It was a very interesting night to say the least lol!! LOL at my buddies!!

Well at this point I took it home and started planning my blower rebuild.. I came up with a good plan and ran it by Drew at AED.. He said sounds good, and that I should consider E85.. We chatted a bit and it was a done deal.. Plan was sell the 80's get ID1000's, my buddy was giving me is BAP, and I was going to run Teflon braided lines.. At this point I wanted to take advantage and powdercoat some more things in the engine bay..

The plan was for me to pull everything off, send the blower out do the Mafia, do the fuel lines. Drew was going to re-install the blower, injectors, BAP... Easy enough.. I got a good solid plan and went to work..

LOTS of OIL!!

Powdercoating was done after they ****ed it up the first time and I demanded it be perfect!! Only charged me a 100 bucks total for everything since I was livid.. Color is Misty Black

Drew convinced me to get a Accufab T-body since my stock one was hideous..
2013082295111311_zps2aec5ca7.gif

And that's where I stand right now.. I think everything is mainly done.. Fuel system is good to go, waiting on a helicoil in #6 cylinder and then just tuning..
I'm not adding anymore boost and the car should be in the 670 range I think on corn.. I'm not really concerned with number just the safety aspect of E85.. You can't beat the safety of it all.. The car should be done in a few week maybe earlier.. Going to see if it can run mid 10's and call it a day lol..

I'll keep this posted as I get updates.. Sorry for the long read :)

I know I can squeeze a GT40 and a 427 Cobra in there.. Two mustangs though?? I don't think it'll fit.. It's short by like a ft in the box because of how the work bench sits sadly.. It's a L shape :(.. But I'll try it out at somepoint

So your running a stock tank with a sump and an a1000 pump? Does it heat up on the street? Do you have a fuel cooler hooked up to it?

I'm running a Glenns sumped tank.. Yup A1000 pump.. No over heating on the street even in AL and FL heat for a 4hr cruise. Multiple dyno pulls and street pulls etc.. Pump has like 12k miles on it and is awesome.. No fuel cooler, no controller nothing.. IDK why people think these pumps suck and need all that crap lol

Just what I wanted to hear

I'm converting to E85 also and was going to get an 03 cobra tank and the Fore setup but now that I saw how yours is setup and your not having any problems, I think I'm going to go that route. Thanks!

You going to any shows or meets after the car is done? I've been wanting to check it out in person.

Can't wait to see the results.

Have you ever thought of going air to air intercooler? I heard those water to air units are quite restrictive.

For sure bro.. I've been to a lot of meets in the months of June and July throughout the bay area.. I'll probably still go to them and hang out.. I'm in Campbell/San Jose so I'm always close by. When I get it back feel free to hit me up and we'll meet up.

That rumor on them being restrictive has been going around for a long time now.. My T-trim was pushing 21psi at 7500 and was just fine.. My PSI levels match almost every other A/A setup out there.. The IAT's stay pretty decent, and throw some ice in it and it's just stupid lol..

The only thought for going A/A for me is for open tracking the car.. But for right now I'm riding out the A/W setup.. PLUS if I were to try to sell the A/W setup it would take a hard core drag racer to buy my kit and pay what I'd sell it for.. I don't even think Vortech makes the A/W setup for our cars anymore.

^^Yea it took me forever to sell my a/w setup and thats with basically giving it away. You know I always thought you were running a v2-t like I was:read: I was thinking of getting a new TB just for the looks also but I think im going to try to pretty up the stock one somehow:lol: You have c heads right? Are they 4 or 9 thread? Only reason im asking is because I had to helicoil my b heads but its not working out so im picking up some 9 thread c heads to fix all my problems.

Everything looks good as always

Yea man it's hard for me to sell something that is working just fine.. Once I find the point to where the a/w setup isn't working for me I'll switch it up.. Nope I'm running a V1 T-trim.. It's the one that they don't make anymore and that people want lol.. The only reason for the new T-body really is for looks lol.. That and I know my Tbody is becoming a restriction with the power I'm running. It might not be much restriction but still.. I also got it at cost so it was pretty cheap too lol.. I have 04 Cobra heads.. I'm not to sure if they are 9 or 4 thread though..

Yep my a/w worked perfect as far as cooling just switched to a/a only for better tuning. Whoever I sold it to got a great deal and im sure is enjoying it. Did you blow a plug or strip a hole? Im betting you have 4. Anywho im done I dont want to clutter your build thread.

Naw man you aren't cluttering lol!! The whole reason why I build these threads is so then people can ask questions and I can answer them.. Doesn't matter if it's pertaining to E85 or my car in general..

The tuning thing I've had a few issues here and there, but nothing crazy.. Could it be better with a blow thru maf? Ofcoarse.. I think that it stripped the hole. I'm not 100% sure though. Basically I think I forgot to tighten it down and then drove on it, so maybe blew??

I've thought about switching to A/A and I can say that when I up the boost on my car I'll probably need to switch as I don't think it'll keep up unless there is ice in there all the time.. That'll be another build thread though lol.. And then I need to find someone who wants a really customized A/W setup.. My shit is not stock at all and that's why it does so well.

Very good meng! I'm subscribed. Just food for thought My old cobra was running 13.4 air fuel at one point when a pump went bad, I never really looked at my wideband when I went wot at 145+ due to paying attention at the road etc and my car didn't blow up lol. If I would've ran that lean on pump gas I would've put a hole on one of my pistons. E85 FTW!!! I gained 62whp just switching same boost levels just upping timing

Hell ya man.. Yea that's why I wanted to go E85.. I know cars that ran 14.5 AFR when a BAP failed at the track.. Car was still fine lol.. No issues at all lol!! Crazy. Yea I'm thinking my car will be in the 670rwhp range.. Which will be plenty for me :)

Wow. This thing will be pretty insane once its done. I wish I were only injectors, BAP and some fuel line away from running E-85. I need a whole new delivery system to support my cars thirst for fuel.

This videos of you running that cobra were great to watch too. I dont catch many videos where you can hear someone powershifting. You shifting almost as fast as my auto, haha.
