I made the switch from the 3.73 to the 3.31 mainly to regain some traction after the supercharger install. That was accomplished because the car doesn’t go sideways in 3rd gear any longer (on street tires MPSS).

What I also found was that my clutch engagement got easier (McLeod RST) due to lower rpm’s when shifting in traffic. The exhaust “Jake brake” and backfiring (rich tune) from removing the restrictor plates decreased as well.

This change will also help with any 1/4 mile trips I may make in the future.

It wasn’t a drastic gear change, but the result for me is a pleasant driving experience, as opposed to a high revving, noisy, excessive shifting experience.

I hope this feedback helps those contemplating such a move.

Good to hear.. the 3.73 with the tight gearing of the M82 is great when na... once you add forced induction that changes quick.
