I'm trying to get as much mechanical grip as possible, so I want to run 315s in the rear but ultimately 305s in the front. What do I need to do not to rub? Thanks. 17x10.5 btw

The terminator came with 275..18x9?, but the rack turn radius had to be limited to keep them from scuffing.
265 has worked for some..but not others..

255 is really the max that lets you get the most turn.

the wider you go the more trammeling you will feel

Like the others said, 305 will not fit without a ton of fabrication; and even then, it'll take a lot of work to get it to handle properly.

People have fit a 315 35 17 sized tire on the front end of a Mustang with a SLA suspension. I’ve also seen a 315 front tire on a 2003 Mustang that still had a strut type front suspension so wheel offset was the key in that case.

17x9. I think the 275 looks fine personally.

Weird thing is I put 275's on my 01 and never had the rubbing issues everyone claimed I would.

315's on the front of a new edge body is simply a retarded proposition. I have 255's which is perfect.

Pretty broad statement. Depends on the goal of the car. I've only been around one car with that wide of a tire up front. It had major mods to get it to happen. And it was built for AIX.

As for what's perfect that's subjective. I would never run anything narrower than the 275 up front.

I guess I'm retarded too for having my too big 275's up front.......

Guess I'll go down to the approved 255 for auto-x and open track this year

I said 315's are too big also not a fan of the 275's but could live with them I guess for a street car but as mentioned 255's are good for me with 275 ET Street I's out back.. Also we're in the New Edge forum, the cars with the 17X8 oem rims, 315's in front with those? Nope..

I mentioned "17x10.5", this is for purely for mechanical grip, not for looks nor acceleration, but thanks for your input :)

It might be the new edge forum, but how many people in here are still on stock rims?

+1 i think carlos did have them at one point on his terminator. i do know he runs an agent 47 sla front suspension, and as has been mentioned, a sla setup (griggs, agent 47, etc) would probably a necessity for that size tire. also as mentioned, will require modified front fenders and a whole lot of dough to make it all work.

op should check out the american iron race builds. 79-04 was (maybe still is?) the preferred mustang chassis for that series, and the rules mandated 315 tires all around.

@DarkRattle, your goal is a tire for road course duties? I assume so. If that is the case, focus on @P49Y-CY's post. I guess you'll have to decide if it would be worth the money you're going to spend.
