Does anyone have any 1/4 mile times with a 2011+ mustang Gt with 4.10 gears and other mods ?

Im planning to go 4.10's , my mustang is 80% street driven and 20% track.

Im aiming for 11's n/a, 4.10's , bolt-ons, slicks and a tune.

What size tires / rims etc would I need ?

Best time so far is a 12.4 with 3.55's and d/r ....

Thanks,

What intake manifold are you running and where are you trying to shift? Also rim diameter? 17" 19"?

You don't need 4.10's, keep the 3.55's use a 15x10 wheel and a 26" tire.

You should be able to run mid 11's with the stock intake, stock suspension and a good tune.

just use a larger rim to compensate for the lower gear

I already bought the 4.10 gears and install kit.

Car makes : 410whp/394wtq.

Cai, off road h-pipe , axel back exhaust , tune.

Suspension : bmr front sway bar delete, bmr drag springs , koni yellow adj.shocks, adj. rear upper arm, lower control arms and brackets, panhard bar and brace.....

Plan on doing LTH and a manifold / tb upgrade next season. For this season just want the 4.10 gears and slicks / skinnies. Which size should i get ??.

If you can't get into the 11's with everything you have now, 4.10s arent gonna cure the issues your having. Try your current setup with a 17" DR

4.10, 1.32 4th gear, 26" tire, 7500rpm = 107mph

4.10, 1.00 5th gear, 26" tire, 7500rpm = 141mph

4.10, 1.32 4th gear, 28" tire, 7500rpm = 115mph

3.73, 1.32 4th gear, 28" tire, 7500rpm = 126mph.

My opinion is 3.73s with a 28" tire would suit your car the best. You want to avoid shifting into 5th at the end of the track.

I don't understand why everyone says don't put gear's in but put a smaller tires you will get the same result except the larger tires will get better traction

Im not saying dont do the gears, im saying to simulate what the gears will do with his current setup try the smaller DR and see if that helps.... as wheels/tires can easily be swapped where he may prefer the 3.55s when not racing (I prefer the 4.10s all the time but most people don't) Also i highly suggest shifting under 7000 on the stock manifold, 7500 like the post above is way too high unless you have a boss/cj/gt350 manifold.
I do agree this is the optimal combo on a boss/cj/gt350 IM, just not the shift points on the stock manifold, so probably a 3.90 with 28" would be perfect for the stock manifold
3.73, 1.32 4th gear, 28" tire, 7500rpm = 126mph.

I need to do some data logging....... By calculators, it says I should be more around 6900 rpm or so going through the traps for 115-116 speed. But I'm spinning more rpm than that. Either the tach is off, the track's mph is wrong, or someone put 4.10's in my car before I bought it........

Ok so my best time at the track was on my Nitto Nt05r tires. I had 18x10 rims, and 285/40/18 Nittos.
I hit a best of 12.49 @ 112 mph with a 1.9 60' ft.

Yet on a michellin 19" tire 265/40/19 i ran a 12.79 @ 117 mph with a 2.1 60' .

So clearly the car can do a 11.9 1/4 mile as is if I can get a 1.7 60'.

Thats why im looking for the best slick size to run.

In regards to 4.10 gears I drove a 2012 mustang with 4.10's on the street and fell in love ! It was a bone stock Gt 6spd manual just with a procal tune. It was just ready to GO! I find on the streets 3.55's seem a bit lazy.
So right away I bought the 4.10 Ford Racing entire kit with all the fluids.

And I realize it will run best with LTH , boss manifold , and a 85mm tb as that it a top end set-up.

So whats my best slicks size exactly ? And which rims should i get ? Also what about the front end skinnies / rims ?

According to : slow306stang ( btw thanks for the details ) looks like i should run a 28" slick and be good till 7,500rpm @ 115mph ?

But on my stock tb/manifold im not gonna rev till 7,500rpm ... So which slick should i run now ? And then next season i can pick up another set to suit my LTH, boss mani / tb upgrades better ?

Thanks guys !

Thanks,

Im not looking for " too much gear , you dont want 4.10's " etc.

Im looking for people who ACTUALLY have 4.10 gears , there set-up and there 1/4 mile times.

Thanks,

The 4.10's will be fine. Run a 28" bias tire. Your car will run 11's the way it sits. With the bias tire you'll lower your 60' enough to get into the 11's. It won't be with a 1.7 though. You'll prob need a high 1.5 or low 1.6. To help get a good launch, I'd try using a 2-step.
