Are brake caliper seals directional?

I am installing new seals in my Cobra's calipers. Are the seals (the ones that go inside the bore and seal up against the pistons) directional? I feel like they should be, but looking at them, I can't tell. If they are directional, how do I tell which way to install them?

They should go in a certain way. The lip of the seal has to face a certain way. At least all the seals I've encountered have. There should be a smooth side and a concave side on the metal part. I've always had the smooth side face out.

I have a pair of calipers in the garage. I'll try to grab pics tomorrow.

I did the second caliper yesterday morning. I felt the old seals before I removed them, and there was a lip along the inner-most side. When I removed the seals, they looked identical to the new ones--no visible lip. When I installed the new seals, I could feel the lip in the same place, so presumably the spot where the seal installs is slightly raised to give the seal a lip.
