I've had bigs and littles on other cars...This is by far the most comfortable, practical setup I've ever owned...Way more comfortable for my DD 17 mile commute to work too! Also not bad in rain! Wheels are Dark Star 15x8 out back and 17x7 up front! Tires are Nitto NT555R 275/60/15 out back and Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 225/55/17 up front! Perfect rake in stance and just looks/rides awesome...I was running 19" Forgestar CF5's up front and just switched to the 17" Dark Stars...I'm loving them! Here's a teaser pic...more to come soon...

Crap dusk phone shot...more coming on the SLR :)

You should see WAY more miles than that. I've had them on several cars and seen 15K+ miles

That depends on how many times you actually use them at the track. I've had them on several cars in including a 4200lb SRT8 that ran 11's.

17x7 up front! Tires are Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 225/55/17 up front!

I'd like to know what the installed height on that front wheel/tire combo is when on the ground? 26" tall? 27" tall?
If it's 26" tall, I wonder if a 225/60/17 would be closer to 27-27.5" tall? Or maybe even 28" tall?

I'd like to have 27" all around with the rear tire I plan on running. Also, that's the first 15x8 pic I've seen where the wheel doesn't poke out as much and the bulge with those 275/60's looks just right to me.
More pics and your car does look awesome.

Good question on installed height of these tires...I know the specs say they're 26.8" tall...of course shorter with weight on them. I'll have to measure and get back with installed height. Thanks for the compliment!

Car looks good OP. :)

RUQWKNF, The 255/60/17 is 27.3 tall(295/45/17 M/T is 27.4, 255/60/15 is 27.1 I'd guess you plan one of these rears?) I'd run a 215/60/17 at 27.1 only issue with that is the 215/60 is a less popular size and therefore more expensive and less "options". Also with tires for the 17x7's(vs the 185/55/17's on 17x4's) they have a higher load rating so they maintain most of their height installed. My 185/55's were just over 25" tall at max pressure installed they always looked "flat". :)

Edit: the 15x8 sits exactly where the 15x10 sits(outside to fender wise) and a narrower tire "fits" better, the 555 Nittos run a little narrow per size so it "fits" much better. The 255/60 mickeys look good on 15x8's too.

Drove these in HEAVY ASS rain 17 miles to work the other day and rode/handled GREAT! Was cruising at 60mph like I was on stock tires. These Dunlop sport maxx fronts really help retain some handling capabilities too which is nice. Braking might be reduced by a tiny amount...barely noticeable.

I also run 17x7s up front but use 215/55/17s. I run 15x10s out back with 275/60/15 Nitto 555Rs.

Cool setup Kalel...I personally wanted more meat up front on mine and from research I did the Sport Maxx RT's I got weigh about 20lbs each and are about the lightest 17" street radial tires for these wheels. They're also Y speed rated and low rolling resistance.
