I'm looking at maybe buying a set of take off bilstiens from a 04 that have 75,000 miles for $250. Would they need to be rebuilt with that many miles and if so how much does something like that cost? It may make better sense to buy new.

I don't know if Bilstein still does this or the price. You would have email them. You can get the HD's for like $240 each I think.

$250 is for 2 shocks and 2 struts. My concern is the mileage on them.

I'd offer $200 for the set but honestly I'd contact Bilstein to see if they still do this. If there not leaking they maybe ok for sometime hard to say. With them being 13-14 years old now I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

They do. I had two shocks and a strut rebuilt last year. With that price plus the cost of rebuild you'll be creeping up on the price of new. I think my rears were $90-$100 each to have done.

I'm going to look at them in person Friday since they are in my home town. Is there anything I should look out for besides the obvious leaks or bent? I may pick them up if I can get them for the right price.

That sounds about right. I think mine were $105/ea because I had them grooved for coil overs.

Unless they're basically giving these to you I'd pass. You're already looking at about $450. Add in the front struts and shipping and it's higher. A set of new HD's on MM's site is $670.
